About the home

Situated in the centre of the village of Fonroque, Les Roseaux is ideal for large family holidays.
The local boulangerie, corner shop and bar/restaurant are, quite literally, just across the village square.
The private garden boasts a swimming pool with sun loungers, for those who like to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Alternatively, there are numerous walks and cycling routes, plus a selection of activities from horse riding to golf.

Fully equipped kitchen owned by an English chef, provides you with everything to prepare a simple snack to a gourmet dinner. The kitchen and the adjoining dining room have doors onto the patio overlooking the pool area.
There is a separate first floor lounge with TV, DVD and numerous board games which gives extra space for larger groups and different ages. All the bedrooms are spacious and airy and there is a bathroom with shower on the 1st and 2nd floors

Further details outdoors:
The front of the house opens out onto a quiet village lane with on-street parking. There is also a carport located opposite the property for private use of guests. The pretty garden at the back of the house has a barbeque area with patio furniture offering the opportunity to dine al fresco on warm summer evenings.

Although self-catering, our Agent, Tricia Parsons, will be on hand to assist you if necessary. Tricia has lived in France for 12 years and will be able to help you with any emergency such as Doctors/Dentists. Her details, along with comprehensive house/area notes, will be provided.

Bookings are from Sunday to Sunday. The property will be ready for your arrival from 4pm and guests are asked to vacate no later than 10am on the day of departure.

Conditions

A deposit of £200 will be required upon confirmation of booking and returned, providing there is no significant damage, within 14 days of the end of the holiday

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

The Dordogne region is renowned for its Chateaux, vineyards and breathtaking landscapes. Bordeaux lies just to the west, and apart from the city itself, it offers some of the most beautiful beaches. Perigueux, to the north of Bergerac is equally stunning with numerous castles, chateaux and caves to explore.

The climate is ideal, long hot sunny days and warm, balmy nights.

The Bergerac / Eymet area

Bergerac is an historic town with a wealth of charming cobbled streets and interesting antique and curiosity shops. It lies on the banks of the Dordogne river and, along with Eymet and the most of the other market towns, plays host to a weekly market frequented by tourists and locals alike. Here you can buy fresh fish, flowers, bread, foie gras, fruit as well as jewellery, clothes and shoes. Truly a market which caters for everyone!

Eymet also holds a night market which has a wonderful atmosphere. Moules frites are on offer, as well as barbequed duck and the evening takes on a carnival atmosphere. More of a social evening than a shopping expedition! These evening markets are now very popular and you will find that most towns hold one in the main holiday season.

Flybe and Ryanair operate from many UK airports into Bergerac. The nearest ferry crossing would be St Malo or you can drive down from Calais (approximately 10 hours). Numerous local car hire companies, such as UCar in Bergerac, as well as Hertz and Avis are available.
