About the home

Both houses have been recently renovated to an extremely high standard, retaining many of the original features while providing all modern conveniences.

The superbly appointed kitchens are a cook's delight and numerous terraces, which look out over the extensive gardens, offer the chance to enjoy al fresco meals, either in sun or shade at all times of the day. The variety of outdoor seating and recreational areas are designed to give maximum privacy to each house.

The heated 13m X 7m infinity pool over flows into a lower pool with a maximum depth of 60cm making ideal for very young children. The pool is set away from the houses in a walled garden and surrounded by lawns.

La Malvinie is designed to be a home away from home. Somewhere to relax in comfort and with the space to entertain if you wish.

Known as La Grange and La Maison the two houses have large fully equipped dine in kitchens with open plan living areas featuring open fireplaces. French doors open onto terraces from the living/dining rooms.

La Grange has one bedroom on the ground floor and a screened off first floor mezzanine with two twin beds and a shower room. Above the master bedroom is an attic gallery with two beds suitable for young children. Both the bedrooms are en suite. From this room there is an exterior door giving onto a small veranda with stairs leading down to the courtyard.

There is an outdoor hot water shower tucked away in a secluded alcove La Grange.
La Maison has four bedrooms upstairs- two en suite and the two, on the second floor, share a shower room.
There is a separate shared laundry with two washing machines, clothes dryer and ironing facilities.

Further details outdoors:
Both houses open onto the courtyard but have their own private gardens. Their are extensive lawns and play areas. A croquet set is available.

There are four outside table and chair settings, some of which can be easily moved for dining in large groups.
La Maison terraces open onto a walled garden and la grange has an extensive west facing terrace surrounded by gardens.

Yoga classes are usually held in the garden or by the pool.
The pool side has wooden sunbeds and shade umbrellas. There is a small cabin with a WC at the pool.

The houses are usually rented together but the layout allows for individual renting with maximum privacy.
La Grange can comfortably accommodate 6 and La Maison 8.

The houses are usually rented from Friday to Friday. Arrival after 4 pm and departure by 10 am.
Although there is no smoking in the houses it is allowable outside (and there are ashtrays).

Conditions

A deposit of 25 % is required to secure the rental. A further 25 % 8 weeks prior to arrival and the balance payable one calendar month before the commencement date.

All phone calls are payable.
A supplement is required for central heating in the winter months. Firewood is provided.

Grange Terrace

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

Historically renowned because of the 100 Year War and the prehistory sites the Dordogne region offers plenty of interest for visitors from caves to chateaux and ancient abbeys.

However this area is also rural France at its best. Local villages offer daily street markets with local fresh produce and nearby vineyards offer a variety of wines to suit your taste.

The hot summer days with temperatures in the high 20s are usually followed by warm evenings allowing outside dining in comfort. The early autumn is a magical time of the year with sunny days but cooler evenings to be spent in front of the log fire.

The Bergerac / St Julien de Crempse area

St Julien de Crempse is a tiny hamlet and the nearest boulangerie is in Maurens 3kms away.
Each village in the area has fete on different weekend in the summer which culminate in grand firework displays.
Some villages have "night markets" where one goes to dine- buying prepared food from stalls.

There are numerous walking route around the village taking you through woods and fields.
The nearest tennis courts are in Campsegret (3k) and there is very good horse-riding and trekking in St Julien.
There are numerous canoeing adventures to be had on both the Dordogne and Vezre rivers.

Bergerac airport (20 minutes) is served by Ryanair and Flybe with flights from numerous UK airports.

Bordeaux airport is an hour and a half away served by British Airways, EasyJet and Air France from the UK and has flights from European cities and international connections via Paris.

Bergerac has a train station with connections via Libourne or Bordeaux to the French TGV network offering direct services to Charles de Gaulle Airport and the Eurostar.

All major international car hire companies have representation in Bergerac and at the airport.
