Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 4
This is an amazing apartment right in the heart of the historic centre of Bergen. With large windows facing Bergen's oldest church – St Mary's Church from the 12th century – the apartment lies right behind the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bryggen in an old wooden house from 1702.
As one of very few houses in the city centre, the apartment has a beautiful garden right at its doorstep – a lovely communal green space where neighbours meet for a cup of coffee and the children can play.
The house is owned by the renowned local artist, Kjell Johannessen – whose workshop is in the same building – and his art is generously displayed in the communal garden as well as in the house, including the apartment to let.
Although fully independent, in the To Sostre Apartment you are not left on your own. The two sisters (To Sostre in Norwegian) run the neighbouring guesthouse where you are welcome to pop in for tips about Bergen and its surroundings.

The Fjord Norway region
Fjord Norway is an amazing region with everything you associate with Norway: Deep fjords, high mountains, glaciers and waterfalls.
This area was voted the world's most beautiful destination in 2009 and is one of the top destinations in the world.
There are plenty of different activities to take part in from skiing, to tobogganing there is plenty of different things to do if you are looking for thrills and adventure.
Surrounded by mountains, Bergen is a charming and beautiful city where nature is never far. But it is also a cultural city, with excellent museums, a highly active musical scene and a number of festivals throughout the year, the International Festival in May/June being the highlight.
Nicknamed the Gateway to the Fjords, Bergen is an excellent starting point for exploring Fjord Norway. A whole range of day tours are available during the summer season, and for those who come by car, there are endless possibilities!
