The Brittany / Finistere region
Located on the Cornouaille coast at the mouth of the Odet River, Bénodet has an old port and a yachting marina, two fantastic lighthouses, "Le Phare du Coq" and "Le Phare de la Pyramide" (191 steps – 48 metres): the view stretches along the coast from Concarneau Bay to Eckmühl Lighthouse and out to sea as far as the Glénan Islands. There are many Churches: Saint-Thomas and Notre Dame de la Mer as well as Perguet Chapel. You will also find The Pont de Cornouaille: an elegant 610 m long bridge, overhanging the Odet river by 30 m with a superb view of Bénodet port, Sainte-Marine and the estuary, and the Odet upstream. Use the Vedettes de l’Odet too: these boats will take you up the Odet river, lined with 15 châteaus, to the Glénan islands, Pont l’Abbé river and the “bigouden” country or sea fishing.
