The North Wales region

The North West Wales region is comprised in the main of Anglesey, Snowdonia, the North coast and the North West Coast.

Anglesey is the largest island in England and Wales, but is still only 20 miles in any direction, thus easy to navigate by car. Snowdonia is a 20 minute car journey and has some of the best scenary in the UK and is visited by serious walkers and those with more leisurely pursuits. The North Coast has many beaches and famous towns such as Llandudno and Colwyn Bay, whilst the North West coast is dominated by towns such as Harlech and Barmouth , with the Lleyn Penninsula and places such as Abersoch and Porth Madoc (40 minute drive) proving popular also.

If you want to go further afield you can be in the historic town of Chester in 1.5 hours by car or indeed take the ferry to Dublin from Holyhead, which takes 1 hour 45 minutes on the fast craft.

Benllech

Most of the coastline around Anglesey is an Area of Outstanding Beauty. There are 6 European Blue Flag beaches on the island alone. Benllech village is one of the largest villages on the island with 3 pubs, 3 convenience stores, butchers, hairdressers, medical facilities, cash machines. You can reach pretty much anywhere on the island in circa 30 minutes and you can be in Snowdonia in 20 minutes, plus Llandudno in 35 minutes. There are lots of watersports activities on the sea , with activity centres at Caernafon and Menai Bridge. Oriel Gallery in Llangefni regularly displays award winning art ; Plas Newydd and Penrhyn Castle are fantastic National Trust sites within a 20 minute drive.
