The climate is suitable all year round. The region has a mild climate with average winter temperature of about 18.7C (53F) degrees, and an average summer temperature of around 31.7C (91F). With miles of golden beaches and warm clear water. Up in the nearby mountains are lots of green fertile valleys with many charming and quaint Mediterranean villages.
The Costa Blanca is a great location for holidays all year round. The area is warm during the summer months and doesn't get unbearably hot unlike some resorts further south on the Costa del Sol for example, and the winter is lovely and mild making it a great winter holiday destination to escape the grey winter of the UK.
The Benidorm / Cala de Finestrat area
Benidorm is only 2 km. away and has lots of nightlife and activities, endless bars and restaurants, and beautiful clean beaches. Terra Mitica theme park, Terra Natura (animals), Mundomar dolphin park, Aqualandia water theme park, lots of water sports, Karting, markets, lots of shops. Fabulous Cabaret at Benidorm Palace and even a local Casino.
Cala de Finestrat is much more peaceful yet still plenty to do, enough bars, restaurants and shops to keep you happy, with a lovely crescent beach close to the apartment. There is a frequent local bus service to Benidorm and even one to Carrefours a hypermarket and shopping mall.
Gualdest is up in the mountains it used to be a Monastery, is now a beautiful church with lots of quaint shops and spectacular views, not to be missed.
The lively resort of Benidorm is only 10 mins drive from the apartment and everything you will need is here.

We had a lovey Spanish holiday at Las Azaleas in Cala de Finestrat. The apartment was clean, had good facilities (pool & tennis) and was close to the beach, restuarants, bars and shops. We hired a car and the parking facilities were great and there was lots of places to go and visit. We liked the fact that Cala de Finestrat was located near Benidorm; which meant we could easily have a 'big night out' but we were far enough away to not be in the middle of it all! Highly recommend visiting Old Benidorm for a more 'cultural' day out - especially Dove Park/Marina. Other good places near by are Benidorm Palace, Water Park, Adventure Theme Park, Safari Park etc, Shopping Centre... We will be returning to Las Azaleas in the future! |

Nice clean apartment, lovely pool. Facilities nearby were good (plenty of eating places), only downside was the walk back up the bank to the apartment ! Easy access to other places of interest, bus service available if you need it. Weather of course was brilliant, lots of sunshine !! |

This 10th floor tower block apartment is OK......clean, (apart from the utensils etc) basic and up a hill that in my opinion does need a car to get to with heavy shopping etc. The roof top solarium was locked and not accessible during my visit and the pool is not welcoming as no loungers are provided. Only one key was provided which is not ideal for groups even though I requested two before arriving. The apartment is adequate and the location good for a base if you want to see the surrounding areas. I doubt if anybody would want to stay in la Cala for their whole stay as it doesn't have much atmosphere and is pretty built up with large apartment blocks, some of them not finished and only half built. There are a couple of good restaurants if you search them out, try the 'menu del dia' in the restaurant in bay for lunch if you are very hungry. The block itself is one of three that have been built in a way that you can hear everything that other occupants do on their balconies and any noise echo's unfortunately, so that it doesn't feel very private. We stayed for two weeks so found plenty to do elsewhere such as Villa Joyosa for a good beach and the bus to Benidorm is regular although you will need to get a taxi back. Overall the apartment could do with a little love and attention and the furniture updating. I would return to Benidorm but make more effort to find somewhere a little more welcoming. Response: When booking this person asked for a reduced price claiming they were alone but would be joined later by a friend. It transpired they were joined by nemerous friends (hence keys)who were noisy also some damage occured. On their return home they demanded a quick return of the deposit (alarm bells). it clearly states on the terms and conditions of booking that a period of 14 days must be allowed for checks on property and repairs etc. to be done. When I contacted them and explained that fact they denied causing a disturbance and that the damage was already done. There was no response when I asked if it had been reported to the person who gave and took back the keys for the apartment. Needless to say they were not happy to be caught out hence the slur and the negative report. |
