The Valenciana region
The Costa Blanca boasts what is reputed to be one of the best climates in Europe with long hot summers and lovely warm winters. The famous town of Benidorm has been a favourite holiday destination for Brits since the 1960's. Famed for its night life the area also holds a wealth of hidden gems. The Costa Blanca has it all which accounts for its huge popularity fifty two weeks of the year.
La Nucia (Valencian pronunciation: [la nuˈsi.a]) is a municipality in the comarca of Marina Baixa, Alicante, Valencia, Spain. It borders the municipalities Altea, Callosa d'En Sarrià, Benidorm, Polop and L'Alfàs del Pi.
La Nucia is located in a fruit valley between Benidorm and Callosa d'En Sarrià, 3 km from the coast of Altea. The urban center is on a promontory overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, 51 km north of Alicante and 8 km north of Benidorm.
The municipality includes the following towns: Barranco Hondo, Coloma, Bello Horizonte, and El Tossal.
The name derives from the Arabic word Naziha ("delicious"). It was given by the king James I of Aragon to Beltran de Bellpuig. At the beginning of the seventeenth century, it formed part of the barony of Benidorm and belonged to Alfonso Fajardo, Baron of Polop, of the house of Fajardo de Mendoza.
La Nucia became an independent municipality in 1705, after splitting from the barony of Polop. The parish church, dedicated to La Immaculada Concepció (Immaculate Conception), was constructed in the 18th century.
Local Theme Parks
While you are staying in Benidorm it is a must to visit some of the theme parks which are all within easy driving distance of the villa. We have activities to suit every age from The Inferno where you will you endure the feeling of being launched at 60 km an hour, going up, forward, upside-down, spinning like a ball? To the gentler wave pool at Aqualandia where you can bask in the sun with waves lapping around you.
Listed below is some information each attraction.
TERRA MITICA – Discover all that’s hidden on the Mediterranean shores. Egypt, Greece, Rome and The Islands, thousands of years converted into moments of fun, emotion and adrenalin.
Do you know what adrenalin is? You don’t need to. The most important thing you need to know is that here you will find so many rides you won’t have enough breath to do them all.
This theme park is the largest on the coast and you will find excitement for all ages.
There are cafes and restaurants throughout the park (all air-conditioned) to suit all budgets.
A spectacular day out that must not be missed!
TERRA NATURA: Experience a dream journey through one of Europe’s biggest and most fascinating nature parks where you can see over 1,500 animals from all over the world. Then why not cool off in Terra Natura’s Water Park.
AQUALANDIA: Largest water park in Europe, it offers fun and excitement including the famous Kamikaze slide for those daredevils, travel at great speed and enjoy the splash at the end (hold on to those trunks and bikini tops!!!!)
You can also enjoy a more sedate swim in the lazy river or enjoy one of the many restaurants and bars.
Aqualandia offers something for every age group.

Boat Trips: Cruise the coast line enjoying spectacular views of the Sierra Helada mountain range, the bays of Albir and Altea Port with the millionaire yachts as well as beautiful coves and beaches.
Jeep Safari: Explore the mountains and valleys in a 4 x 4. An adventure off the beaten track. Discover hidden villages and the spectacular water falls at Algar. Lunch included.
Medieval Night: Go back 400 years in time to the castle of the Count of Alfaz. See a spectacular display of horseback jousting. Wine and dine in medieval splendour.
Benidorm Palace: Benidorm’s equivalent of Cesar’s Palace in LasVegas, with the largest stage in Europe, you will be dazzled by an unforgettable spectacular night of glitz and glamour.
Optional Gala Dinner with complimentary wine and champagne.
The town of La Nucia is an old Spanish town which in the last ten years has grown in size and popularity with foreigners. The once sleepy village now boasts a huge sports complex with indoor pool and football pitches, a brand new medical centre, outdoor auditorium for concerts as well as several large supermarkets and a wealth restaurants including Spanish, Italian, Chinese etc. A big attraction is a huge "Rastro" (Car boot sale) which fills the streets and car parks every week.

"Wow lovey villa"
We stayed there for a week with eleven of us. Lots of space. One thing I would say is the pool is too far from the villa it's a good 10mins walk across rough ground to get to. But once your there it's great. Villa could do with a few jobs doing round it. A few notices stating don't open or do not stand broken tile. It's top money and all should be working fully. Address these and the villa and grounds are perfect.
Many thanks for your comments, they are always appreciated. Indeed the outdoor pool is at the far end of the 31,000m2 garden and as you rightly pointed out can take up to 10 minutes to walk to - alternatively you can drive to the outdoor pool as some guests decide to do. However, there is always the indoor pool which is just outside the front door of the house - I admit, at this time of year, the outdoor pool is far more an attraction. Thanks for pointing out the other little jobs needed - these have now been addressed. Hope to see you again sometime in the near future.

after spending 3 holidays here at this villa and enjoying all of them i was deeply shocked to receive an email accusing us of being, dirty, untidy and thieves ! we always tidied the villa and have had no problems, this time we were accused of leaving swimming pool weights in the pool as if we did it on purpose to spite them ?? we were told our rubbish was in the wrong place which is where we left it during our other 3 visits. strange. we were told we had stained the carpet in numerous places ?? the carpets are cream and not clean on arrival so be carful you sont get stung for the £60 like we did. we managed every other time to cause no problems to the carpet. again, strange. we were accused of taking all the shampoos and conditioners provided. this was an outright lie from the staff!. 3 bathrooms. 1 bathroom nothing was provided and the other 2 bathrooms the shampoos etc werent even used as the members took their own items. this comment i find very unprofessional and rude. we damaged a towel which they sent pictures of, fair enough not a problem. things happen. but to be told that makeup getting onto a towel is a dirty habbit ! again, rude. the email that was sent to me i found very upsetting and rude when i phoned to talk about the email i was told not to go back to the villa. how can the other 3 times we went be so different from the fourth visit. the people were the same people !!??!! i would not recommend this place to anyone now
Thank you for submitting your review of our property. I would now like to respond to all of your points. Firstly, I did write to you, but NEVER accused you of being dirty untidy and thieves! With reference to issue of the rubbish: Our welcome book informs it's readers NOT to leave rubbish outside the entrance of the villa, but to put it in the bins further down the road. This is because of the warm weather (up to 30 degrees when you were here) and animals ripping it open encouraging vermin. On checking out, you left behind TEN bags of rubbish (surely a whole week's worth?) outside the entrance to the villa which had seeped out and stained the block set drive. It further seeped out into the cleaner's car when she had to take it to the bins for you. On the subject of the carpets: They had been professionally cleaned two weeks before your visit (the company will not be pleased to hear you say they were NOT clean on arrival!) so any "new" stains were easily seen on our pale beige carpets. Our professional carpet cleaner genuinely charges 60 euros (NOT POUNDS STERLING as you stated) call out and to perform a spot clean. The items left in the outdoor pool were in fact children's toys. These had sunk to the bottom and our Spanish cleaner had to get her husband to come out and dive in to retrieve them. It is not our policy to leave "stuff" in the pool for future clients. These toys are kept where you found them, in the storage cupboard alongside the pool, and, yes, we do expect people who use them to put them back - it is just courtesy to leave it as you found it. Regarding the damaged towel, I did NOT say it was a dirty habit. I said quote "One towel was so badly stained with makeup and mascara that it would not come clean even with spraying, then soaking in Vanish, then washing as normal in the machine" unquote. YOU say it is a dirty habit, and I am inclined to agree with you, as I clean my makeup off with remover sheets (1 euro for 25) before washing my face. I cannot leave stained towels for future guests, that is just not up to our rather high standards. Concerning the toiletries, I was the first person to go into the villa after your departure, and I am the OWNER of this luxury home. I most definitely am not lying when I say that every single, shower gel, conditioner, body lotion etc from every bathroom was GONE. They are not the small type that are usually put out by hotels, which everyone expects to take away, they were full size bottles, and your party are the first to have taken them away. We leave them purely as a courtesy to arriving guests, (the same as we leave tea, sugar, coffee, milk and water) fully aware that most will bring their own, as I do, but we feel it is a gesture in case anyone arrives late at night, as you did, and as lots of people only bring hand luggage these days, toiletries are severely restricted. We have not charged for them, just pointed out that it did not go unnoticed! It was not my intention for my email to come across rude. The aim was to point out that the villa was left in a less than acceptable condition by your party, and I stand by this. We deducted 120 EUROS, 60 for the carpet cleaner, 60 for our own cleaner. This equated to 100 pounds, which we deducted from your deposit and the remaining balance was transferred immediately. Our villa is probably the most luxurious rental villa in the area, and we are determined that people who disrespect the standard we try to keep up, will not be welcome to come back. As we pointed out on the phone, we have new cleaners this year, and being Spanish, they are probably more fastidious than some - that is why we employ them. We aim to keep our villa in the best possible state so that future guests will really enjoy their visit.

"Stunning villa in beautiful area"
We have just returned from a one week stay. There were only two of us so there was more room than we needed but I booked for the indoor pool. I love swimming on holiday and search high and low for private heated pools that are warm enough for me out of peak season. Having such a fabulous indoor pool was more than I could have hoped for and the hot tub was a welcome bonus. The temperature of the pool was perfect all day. The house itself is wonderful, very welcoming and spacious. The central heating was needed as it was quite cool in the morning and evenings as you would expect for early February. The grounds around the house are amazing and it's impossible to describe how interesting the whole place is. This was our first time in this area and I was pleasantly surprised as I was not keen on the idea of being so close to benidorm. I soon discovered that you can quite easily spend your time in pretty, quiet locations without ever going into benidorm. Altea Albir and Villajoyosa are all within easy reach by car and are very pleasant coastal locations with beautiful backdrops and stunning beaches. We did go there on one day just out of curiosity and to be honest it wasn't awful I just don't really like to be surrounded by lots of high rise buildings. All I can say is if you have looked at this villa and wondered as I did if it was too good to be true, book it! You will not regret it. Booking is easy, communication is excellent, we only returned yesterday and have already had an email to say our security deposit minus electricity charge has been paid into our account. All in all a most enjoyable experience we hope to repeat sometime.

"Wonderful villa in spacious grounds with indoor & outdoor pools"
We stayed at this wonderful villa for 1 week and wished we’d booked for 2. We certainly hope to return! The villa is spacious, clean and has the benefit of Wi-Fi access and the grounds are extensive. There really is too much to say about this property that can be covered in this brief review (and probably wouldn’t do it justice), but of course a detailed description can be found on-line. The heated indoor pool (in its separate building with 2 showers, WCs and Jacuzzi!) was much used. How often can you say you can see a mountain out of a window while doing a length of your local pool! Across the ‘I’m a Celebrity’ type rope bridge, among other interesting things (e.g. large shady tree house), you find your way to an outdoor pool (shower & WC, with barbecue & kitchen facilities). Although unheated, it looked so inviting in its own pretty setting, even though it was April, my son and his friend couldn’t resist going in. The location of the villa is a little out of the way and a car is necessary but Benidorm is only a 15 minute drive away and the local supermarkets and restaurants just 5 minutes away. We were well looked after by the concierge team (Alan & Andy) who were very responsive to texts, calls and emails with information and help. The views from the property are of hillsides and not too-distant mountains and close by the wooded grounds slope this way and that (hence the need for the bridge and no level ground for ball games) and a daily lap of the outer fence would certainly keep you fit!

"2nd Visit still had the Wow factor"
We went back to the villa with friends after thoroughly enjoying our first stay at the villa. We was overwhelmed by the hospitality shown to us on arrival. The pools were not heated but did not need to be as the weather was truly amazing and the pool water was still very warm. Needless to say, we have booked again for March and will again for next September. Everyone involved through booking and beyond have been very responsive and make you feel like your visit is valued. Well done to all of you and Thanks yet again. See you in March.
