The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
The northern Costa Blanca enjoys the excellent Mediterranean weather, with pleasant average annual temperatures (around 20ºC). Moreover, Villajoyosa, called La Vila by the local people, has a 12km coastline of which 3.5km. are beaches. Torres beach is just beside Terramar. Other beautiful beaches and coves are: El Paraís, La Caleta, Bon Nou, Almadrava, Estudiants and Playa Centro. In addition to the 100 different types of paella, you can order other rice dishes such as the soggy ones, rice with fish, rice with anchovies, or with other kind of fish. Other typical dishes are: fish suquet, octopus with onions and the so well know caldero (rice dish with fish). Villajoyosa has a varied and rich archaeological heritage: Sant Josep tower, the Partida Torres Roman water deposit, as well as the coast watch towers of l´Aguiló and Xarco, and the Roman necropolis of Poble Nou. Moreover, you cannot miss the former walls of the old quarter, the Assumpció church-fortress and the Archaeological and Ethnographic museum. Apart from the Carnival and Holy Week, the Lágrimas de Santa Maria celebration takes place during May, while the Moors and Christians local festivities take place from the 24th to the 31st of July, declared to be of national tourist interest, with the popular Moorish landing at dawn. The Ermita de San Antonio neighbourhood celebrates the San Miguel Arcángel festivities in September.

How to get there
Villajoyosa is 43km from El Altet International Airport and is extremely well communicated with the rest of Europe through the A-7 motorway. The easiest and closest exit to Terramar is 65A (Benidorm -Terra Mítica). From Alicante you can also get to Villajoyosa through the N-332 national road, or by train.
