About the home

La Cala Finestrat is situated between Villa joyoisa and Benidorm with the theme parks Terra Mittica,Terra Natura with water park where you can swim with sharks, Mundomar and Aqualandia all within 5 to 10 minutes bus ride. Agua Viva is a secure gated complex with just 3 blocks surrounding a delightful grassed pool area. There is a small childs play area with swings etc and three hole crazy golf. The apartment has a double bedroom , a twin bedded room, bathroom, lounge (with sofa bed) ,and a kitchenette. A balcony off the lounge overlooks the pool area Everything you could need is supplied although the television is only Spanish TV. The complex is within easy level walk of the safe sandy crescent shaped beach and a car is not essential as there is a very good bus service.

The balcony has patio table and chairs. The microwave is a combi type. With local bars only charging from 9 Euro's for a three course meal with wine and english bars doing full english breakfast from only 3 euro's I don;t think you'll be eating in much!! Ceiling fan in double room. Linen is provided and mid stay changes can be provided at a cost of 40 Euro's. The block is served by a lift and there is one complex entrance on a pavement level. Directly below the blocks are the bus stops as well several coffee bars, a shop and a pizza restaurant that does take away. Fronting the beach are numerous spanish and english bars and you'll be spoilt for choice.

Wheelchair access to complex is available and the apartment is served by lifts but the apartment itself does not have widened doors or bathroom facilities specifically for disabled.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

This part of the Costa Blanca enjoys good weather most of the year February and March are usually the coldest month. We had dinner on the beach last christmas. August can be as much as 40 to 45 Degrees so be prepared. Many fiestas, often lasting up to a week, run throughout the year with regular fireworks at midnight. There is a great variety of places to visit from sophisticated towns like Altea with its lovely church square and artists studios, Polop with its 200 fountains, Guadalest historical bell tower and castle remains high up in the mountains to Benidorm the height of nightlife.

The Benidorm / Cala de Finestrat area

Cala Finestrat is part of Finestrat town which is high in the mountains at the back of the bay. A trip here is well worth while for the beautiful views and lovely spanish feel of the cafes and bars. It also has a park for the children with a huge hand fountain, great for photo's. Nearby there is the fishing lake of villajoyoisa, a permit costs 16 Euro's per day.La Cala itself as well as the lovely beach, has plenty of things going on with small spanish cafes to Irish bars and night time entertainment bars. Market day is friday.Benidorn itself speaks for itself but remember it has three distinct parts. Poniente beach, the continental end, with its long white sandy safe beach much quieter than Levante, new town, where most of the English congregate. Levante is a vibrant lively beach, still sandy, still safe, with banana boat rides, water ski amusement and lively music Bars and nightclubs. Then there is Old Town, in the middle full of excellent restaurants, the centre of all fiestas with it',s own small beaches, left and right, the WALKING street where local spanish and visitors all mingle and take time out for trying the many varieties of tapas, the spanish snacks, taken as light meals. The port is here, lovely seafood restaurants and the dove park with children's play areas etc.

Easy jet, Ryanair, Monarch, BMI, Thomsonfly fly to Valencia (90 minutes to property using motorway) and/or Alicante (45 minutes to property motorway driving).
Transfer from Alicante airport available by Resorthoppa or Shuttledirect, direct to bottom of complex (approx £8.50 each) . (PUBLIC BUS (8 Euro's) to Benidorm then Taxi (ten minutes) to La Cala

Anne and Hazel;- February 2010-" had a lovely time, enjoyed local facilities, bars/restaurants etc. Bus routes convenient only went to Benidorm once,too busy for us, Night time views of lights and watching outside lift at hotel Bali going up and down fascinating. Will be back 2011. Victoria;- June 2010- "Back for second year. Kids love it.Lovely safe complex spent lots of time around the pool.Safe sandy beach kept kids amused all day and we could have a drink at local bar while still keeping an eye on them.. Restaurants round beach great, lots of choice. Bus route to Benidorm a godsend, taxi back only cost 12 Euro's even after 1 AM. Flat had everything we needed, too much to do to watch TV." .
