The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Benalmadena is in the Costa del Sol, province of Malaga. The region is Andalucia. It is called the Sunshine Coast because it boast of the most sunshine all year round in Spain. Malaga has a main town with an important port. There are various museum and exhibition centres in Malaga and there is the Picasso Museum. Granada is 1 hours drive, easy to visit in a day, and Sevilla, Cordoba a couple of hrs away. Marbella is only 20 mins away on the motorway which is easy to reach. Antequera, white town, has a "Stone Henge" Mijas is another white Town set in the mountains with a Donkey sanctuary a few kms from Benalmadena. Fuengirola and Torremolinos about 3 - 4 kms away for the night life.
Benalmadena / Benalmadena Costa area
Benalmadena is rich in history with a museum, a castle and sports centres, with the best golf courses in the area. Restaurants. Some of the best restaurants I have eaten in are Benalmadena Pueblo: Fidels, La Perla, El Higueron and Airen, are all excellent first class and highly recommended and are within 2/5 mins drive away. Excellent Tapas Bars. The "Menu del Dia" is 7-8 euros per person = £4.80 for a 3 course meal which included a glass of wine or a beer. Tivoli World, cable cars, horse riding, aquarium sea life, Selwo Marina, snake farm, and water parks. Puerto Marina is best known for its nautical sports facilities and cruises, and is open to everyone to visit during the day, plenty of restaurants and night life. The location is ideal for you to decide the type of holiday you wish to have. Sun, Sea, Nightlife, golf or nautical activities or plenty of rest .
Benalmadena has a municipal council that promotes all the Festivities with Carnivals and processions. Easter, Holy Week, the Passion of Christ and Corpus Christi which is traditional throughout Spain especially in the South of Spain. Even St. Patricks Day is celebrated in Arroyo de la Miel with the town Plaza taken over for the Irish celebrations. Malaga festival is the beginning of August, and Benalmadena is about the 2nd week of August. Towns and villages generally take turns to have a Fiesta, so when one town has finished festivities you can be assured a nearby one has just started.

Guestbook for Villa Solaria
Karen Coombe, Cumbria. 26.08.09 Many thanks for our truly enjoyable stay at your villa. We all had a wonderful time. Alf was particularly helpful and was great with helping my son, wife and grandchildren in organising transport back to the airport. The villa was a lovely place for us all to celebrate! All in all, a great experience and we certainly hope to return.
Gordon McCartney - Guildford, Surrey submited 12.08.09 Thank you very much. Your villa is stunning!
Jeroen van Tilborg. USA. submitted 30.06.09 I want to let you know that all of us had a great time, and we truly enjoyed the amenities in the house. Nice pool, lots of chairs and tables, bathrooms, and great rooms. Aircon was working, internet was working, it was very pleasant.
Maria from Loanhead, Scotland – submitted 23.06.09
"Really enjoyed my stay in the villa, the whole booking and joining procedure was smooth. Angelina Garcia is a lovely lady who was very accommodating for the needs of my party, I was even able to view the villa prior to my stay in June 09. The villa was described very accurately and was good value for money. Support was available in Spain from Alf, a very nice gentleman who was never troubled when I phone him. Would definitely book again and would recommend the villa to friends as a very pleasant place to spend their holidays."
5 Star rating. Value: Excellent , Met expectations: Exceeded them , Recommend: Definitely , Overall: Excellent

Review submitted by the Smith family from the Shetlands Isles on 21/02/08. stayed New Year 2008.
"We really enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous villa. The views from the balconies were superb both during the day and at nights when you could look over the towns/villages on the coast. Would recommend a car though as the villa was on a steep incline.
There was a mixture of ages in our party ranging form 2 years to 72 years. We all enjoyed the holdiay - the pool was full even in December!! The villa is well designed, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Everything was there you could wish for. It was very clean and the lady who greeted us upon arrival with the key was very friendly and helpful.
The communication I had with the owner was great - she was very helpful, she gave us lots of good adice re amenities locally, car hire etc. By the way we hired car from Malaga airport and the instructions to the villa were clear - we foudn it even in the dark.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"

"Just back from holidays, the villa was lovely, yes you definitely need a car but everywhere was within a five minute drive. Highly recommend "el pueblo", a spanish village just 2 km above us, excellent restaurant and so quaint. The villa was very spacious and air conditioned, it had everything we needed and Angelina was excellent to deal with when trying to organise taxis etc. I had the penthouse suite and the views were beautiful out over the bay both day and night. We intend to visit again." Value: Excellent , Met expectations: Yes - satisfied , Recommend: Definitely , Overall: Excellent
Review submitted by Marianne from Bergen, Norway (Submitted: 10/07/2007) Rated 4 Stars
"The villa was super. Our only disappointment was that the beach and restaurants were not within walking distance (like we though it would be). However, we all had a great time in the villa."
Owner reply: Marianne and family walked towards Fuengirola, had they walked the other way they would have found 3 local restaurants within 5 and 10 minutes walk from the villa.
