Costa del sol enjoys a warm climate all year round with temps reaching 32c in july and august.places of interest are tivoli world amusement park,the marina,crocodile park in torremolinos,fuengirola zoo,sea life centre and huge waterparks in mijas and torremolinos.there are some great markets in the area too.arroyo de la miel holds a flee market on wednesdays and a main market on fridays.tivoli world has a market on sundays while the main market is held on thursdays in nearby torremolinos.
The Benalmadena / Benalmadena Costa area
Benalmadena Marina – was awarded in 1995 the title of the World’s Most Beautiful Marina. With more than 1,000 berths it is the largest marina in the region and is surrounded by innumerable cafés, restaurants, discotheques, souvenir shops and day and night entertainment.
From the port you are able to makes trips up the coast to see dolphins in their natural habitat or if you prefer to stay on dry land, to visit Sealife, an underwater aquarium, in which you can admire the tremendous diversity of under-water life in the Mediterranean.
On either side of the port the sandy beach extends for miles with its beautiful promenade, cosy cafes and inviting restaurants. There is also a water sports centre from where you can try out paragliding, jet skiing, diving, fishing and other pursuits.
El Castillo Bil Bil, which dates from 1934 is a cultural centre, in which exhibitions and concerts take place, as well as being a popular place to get married!
There is a casino, golf courses and shopping centres to add more variety to your holiday. There is one golf course in immediate proximity to our apartments, seven others nearby, and within a short drive innumerable others – it’s not in vain that the Costa del Sol is also known as the "Costa del Golf".
For something more relaxing we recommend the "Parque de la Paloma", the Park of the Dove which extends to 200.000m² of gardens, among the largest in the region. With its children's playgrounds it is an absolute must for visitors.
The leisure and entertainment park TIVOLI WORLD in Arroyo de la Miel opened in 1973 and offers a wide range of activities to make your holidays an unforgettable experience.
On Friday mornings between 10.00 and 14.00 o'clock the market in Arroyo de la Miel is a place where you will find that special souvenir to display at home.
Another unforgettable experience is to take the „telecabina“, the cable car, up from the town to the 971m high mountain Calamorro, from where there is a fantastic view of the entire coast and, on a clear day, right across the sea to Africa.
If that is not enough to entertain you then make your way to the city of Málaga with its cathedral, Alcazaba, the Gibralfaro mountain fortress and its free open air concerts.
The mountain village of Mijas also enjoys a tremendous view over the entire coast. It has a bull ring and museum, a chapel cut into the mountain, gardens and it’s famous donkeys, on whose backs one can explore the village.
For horse lovers there is a Spanish riding school with demonstrations, and riding instruction, also trips out from the stables are available.
The new „Selwo“ Safaripark has more than 2.000 wild animals, of 200 different animal species, from all continents of the world in over one million square metres of nature reserve which can be viewed by bus, or on foot.
A new Dolphinarium has been recently opened at the Selwo Marina. With 1.67 hectares of water and a wide range of sea creatures, seals and dolphins and, uniquely on the Spanish peninsula, emperor penguins.
For day-trips out from Benalmadena you have the option to go with organized travel companies or to rent a vehicle. Either way, there are many interesting destinations:
The British Colony of Gibraltar with its innumerable underground tunnels and caves, Barbary Apes and shop-ping streets.
Like-wise a trip to Ronda, the „white queen“, one of the oldest cities of Spain, never disappoints the visitor. The main points of attraction are the oldest bullring in Spain, and the deep ravine with its spectacular bridge which interconnects the city.

From Malaga Airport it is a short Taxi to Benalmadena. The complex is located near the Windmill Roundabout on the Coast Rd. Travel Cot available.
Benal Beach complex has 5 Pools and Slides near Restaurants, Bars,Shops. Paloma Park is across the road with a wide selection of wild life.

I completely disagree with the two previous reviews. Myself, my partner and our two children had a wonderful time in Benal Beach. We found the apartment spotless and very spacious. It is in an ideal location on the ground floor close to the mini market (which is a BIG advantage!) and we had most of our meals on the balcony, as it was so private. The swimming pools were fantastic for the children (and ourselves!) with water slides and even a pool with a bar! There is poolside snacks available all day at very reasonable rates. One of the best things about this apartment is its close proximity to the beach and the marina. There is also a magnificent park directly across the road from the complex. The owner, Aine, was extremely helpful in organizing our transfers from the airport, and also the arrangement for our key collection on arrival. We were also given the phone number of her rep in Spain should we have needed it while we were there. Aine answered all our emails and returned our phone calls promptly. We would definitely book this apartment again and recommend it highly :) |

I completely agree with the previous review. Unfortunately at the time when I made the booking, no review was available, so I hope this one will help somebody. First of all, the description of the apartment doesn't reflect its awful location - it's on the ground floor right in front of the entrance to the gardens and the local shop is next door to it. It means that crowds of people are permanently cruising at the level of the balcony and see everything, that's going on inside. That''s actually the worst thing about the property which should be known beforehand. The other inconsistency - in the description it is not mentioned that the AC costs 1 Euro per 2 hours. On the arrival we found the apartment dirty, the floor was sticky, tons of dust everywhere, so the first thing we had to do at 11PM was cleaning. Obviously those who clean the apartment consider that it's enough to remove rubbish and change the linen. All the furniture inside needs to be cleaned - it seems that this never happened. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a rental in Benalmadena to avoid this property. Fortunately we managed to abstract from all those things and enjoy our vacation, but it's much better when everything is ok. And, yes, Aine - the owner of the property will talk to you just before she receives the money. After this happens she will ignore all the emails (while the booking request from the fake account will be answered almost immediately :)) Response: The apartment is located on the ground floor with the supermarket across the corridor from it, as advertised. The entrance to the gardens is beside the apartment and not in front of it. People do pass to view the gardens but they also pass the apartments that are located in front of the pool area, the apartments near the bar etc. The apartment is cleaned after guests vacate the property and checked again just before new guests arrive. The AC is very good value. However, we neglected to include it in our advertisement and thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will be adding it to our advertisement in the future. The furniture inside the apartment has now been professionally cleaned and once again, thank you for bringing it to our attention. |

We have rented many cheap apartments and don't expect much for the price but this was awful. When we arrived no one had been informed of our arrival. We luckily spoke to an english lady who happened to know the owner and was able to sort out the apartment. She called a friend who works as a cleaner and after a wait of 3 hours we were able to get in. The apartment was drab and in need of decoration but as a cheap deal we weren't expecting much. As this is a ground floor apartment that opens onto a public area we were surprised to find that the locks on the doors didn't work but were jammed shut by shoving an allen key into the hole where the locks used to be. Of an evening teenagers hung around in the outside area which made us feel insecure and we therefore took all valuables with us on every outing. We contacted the owner, Aine, about these issues on our return but our email has been completely ignored. I would strongly urge anyone to avoid this apartment. Response: In response to the above review, I would like to make the following points: 1) Our rep at the complex, Sharon, manages 30+ apartments in the Benal Beach complex. The keys are always left at the reception desk for the guests arrival. However, should guests arrive earlier than expected, we cannot guarantee that the apartment will be ready. 2) The apartment is advertised as a ground floor apartment. It is a very safe and secure complex. The lock on the door had been broken by the previous guests and this has now been repaired. We thank you for bringing this to our attention. 3) All emails are answered promptly and all inquiries are given my phone number should they wish to discuss any matter with me over the phone. |
