The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Marbella's 'micro-climate' enjoys a pleasant Mediterranean climate all year round, with bright sunny days for the greater part of the year. The combination of mountainous peaks of the Sierra Blanca terrain together with the coastline ensures a very mild winter with an average maximum temperature of 22.8º C and a minimum of 13º C.
Summers are dry and hot and can reach temperatures that go well into the 30's. Fortunately due to low humidity, the heat is comfortable and not sticky or overbearing.
The main attractions not to be missed are Funny Beach, Fuengirola Zoo, Selwo Safari Park, Selwo Marina, Mijas and Torremolinos Aquaparks and Tivoli World Amusement Park. Gibraltar is 1 hour by car, Malaga 45 mins, Ronda 60 mins and Mijas 35 mins.
Benahavis / Gazules del Sol area
Benahavis, a mountain village 7km from the coast, is situated between Marbella, Estepona and Ronda. Renowned for its restaurants - they call it the dining room of the Costa del Sol - it is above all a picturesque place, where one can find incredible mountain- and sea-views. Boasting 12 of the Costa del Sol's 70 golf courses, and that will go up to 15 in the next couple of years, it is also THE hotspot for golf lovers. Located on the Southern face of the Serrania de Ronda mountain range, its views are spectacular. Its terrain is traversed by the Rivers Guadalmina, Guadaiza and Guadalmanza. Regions of great natural and historic interest are to be found within its boundaries, such as El Cerro del Duque, Daidin and the Montemayor Castle. On top of that, Benahavis is only a stone throw away from the beaches of the Costa del Sol and the spectacular mountains of the Serrania de Ronda.
How to get there
We are 45 minutes drive from the airport. Coming out of the airport keep right. Stay on the inside lane so, as not to miss your exit. Look for exit marked, Benalmadena or Cadiz, the road you will be looking for is called the N340 or the A7, this is one in the same road. Look for an exit marked Puerto Banus and travel through tunnel, passing a large shopping centre, El Corte Ingles keep on this road until you reach the Marbella Arch and turn right. Take the immediate left into the commercial centre keeping on the left fork. We are three doors down from Barclays Bank.
