Further details indoors:
Our apartment is beautifully furnished throughout, the furniture and soft furnishings having been chosen carefully to create a modern yet comfortable atmosphere.
The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and is connected by a wardobed dressing area to a spacious en suite bathroom with marble floor and walls. The bedroom has patio doors which lead out onto the large terrace. The second bedroom has two single beds and has a separate bathroom with shower, again with marble floor and walls. The outer door can be closed enabling the area to become self contained.
The fully fiitted kitchen is equipped with all you should need during your stay (please let us know if there is anything needed that isn't provided) and double windows open up into the dining area for easy access. The dining area has a table and seating for six people.
The lounge has a three seater cream leather settee which is a sofa bed and a two seater matching settee for your comfort and relaxation just in case you wish to escape from the glorious sunshine. There is a brand new flat screen TV and DVD complete with about 30 channels.
From the lounge large patio doors open out onto the sunny terrace where there are a variety of plants and trees in terracotta pots and an outside glass topped table and chairs which seats 6 people - ideal for your 'al fresco' dining.
The apartment is fully air conditioned and has underfloor heating for the cooler winter months.
None of the rooms are overlooked so it is extremely private.
Further details outdoors:
Our penthouse is on the second floor and has direct access from the underground garage where there is a large single parking space. At present the lift has not been switched on but we hope that this will be rectified very soon. There is an automatic garage remote to access the garage space. A fantastic infinity pool and a small children's pool lies directly behind our apartment and has recently had a neat security fence erected which means that only people staying on the urbanisation can use the facility. Just imagine being able to look over golf valley and the sea from the edge of the pool! There are three other individually designed pools set in the beautifully landscaped gardens all around the complex and residents are free to use any one of them. Or if you so wish you can take a 20 minute stroll around the picturesque gardens and waterfalls, locate one of the seating areas where you can rest and admire the views. There are tennis courts in Benahavis and at Buena Vista near Paraiso Park a few minutes away. There is also a beautiful park in Benahavis and lots of little streets to explore.
Further details
There will be a small welcome pack on your arrival at no extra charge. La Hacienda is a secure, gated development and the security gates of the complex are locked. Entry can only be accessed by a bleeper which will be sent to you on booking.
Conditions
Please note that in future people confined to wheelchairs and children in pushchairs would have access to our apartment as there is a path directly from the road to the lift or direct from the garage. The infinity pool has a ramp access and therefore wheelchairs and pushchairs would have access. There would, however, be parts of the complex that would be more difficult to negotiate especially for wheelchairs.
Please note that for the moment the lift to the apartment is NOT yet working as we are still on builder's electricity. The cables have now been laid so there should be electricity very soon. As soon as the lifts are working I will post it on this site.
The Costa del Sol region
The Costa del Sol is the most southerly coast of Spain and boasts well over 300 days of sunshine every year. It offers something for everyone whether you are a family, a couple, just friends holidaying together or golfers. There are superb beaches to explore all along the coast, San Pedro being our nearest beach ( see photos) and the famous Nikki Beach is only 15 minutes along the Costa.
There are numerous golf courses, many are world class, in the area which has been called 'golf valley' and our apartment overlooks El Paraiso Golf and the surrounding area. The sunny all year round climate allows golfers to play through summer and winter.
The towns of Marbella and Puerto Banus are both only about 10-15 minutes drive away and you can visit the famous Puerto Banus Marina, have a meal, look at the fabulous yachts and watch out for the rich and famous. Then head along the Golden Mile to Marbella where a visit to the old town is a must. Have a drink in Plaza de los Naranjaos (Orange Square) surrounded by trees and exotic tropical plants. Alternatively explore the narrow cobbled streets with shops, art galleries, bars, bistros and restaurants where there is always a hub of activity. The towns main shopping area boasts many designer shops as well as bars and restaurants and the local Marbella market takes place every Monday. West of Puerto Banus and Marbella is San Pedro de Alcantara which is one of the really true Spanish towns. San Pedro's old town is charming with small winding streets and a central plaza which is well worth a visit. San Pedro has about 5Km of excellent beaches, a wide promanade with many chiringuitos ( Spanish restaurants which all sell delicious sea food). The sandy beach has the 'blue flag' for its clean water making it ideal for families with children. San Pedro has a local market every Thursday. You may fancy a visit to Estapona where you can walk along the sea front to the port. There is a small market at the port every Sunday which we love to explore.
Although you will always have plenty to do on the Marbella coast since it has been developed specifically for tourism there are many other places you can visit. Families can enjoy a day out at Parque Aquatica which is one of the best water parks around and is located on the outskirts of Fuengirola. It also provides a variety of entertainment to suit all the family. Take a trip to the famous town of Ronda which is about an hour away. See the bridge over the gorge and the oldest bullring in Spain. Visit Cesares, a little whitewashed town built on the hillside as you wind your way up through the stunning scenery to Ronda. Go over to Gibraltar and explore the caves dug by the military or see the monkeys. Here you can also take a boat trip from the marina to see dolphins out at sea.
The Benahavis / La Hacienda del Senorio de Cifuentes area
The beautiful whitewashed village of Benahavis, only 5 minutes away from La Hacienda, is our favourite place and we love to get changed in the evening and choose one of the many restaurants in which to eat. The choice of restaurants is vast as there are at least 17 in the village. You can eat inside or outside even on rooftops and most of the restaurants provide you with a free drink (usually a liquor) at the end of your meal and the service is second to none. Our favourite resteraunt is Rufinos.
Benahavis is a delightful village set in the hills about 7 km from the coast and nestling in the hillside. Its narrow cobbled streets take you around the village which still keeps its original Moorish charm. It has its own 4 star hotel and public swimmimg pool which is open in the summer months. There are also tennis courts. It has a small market every Tuesday. There are a couple of small shops in Benahavis that seems to stock everything from food to light bulbs if you should run out of anything although a new Mercadona has recently opened about 2 or 3 minutes away from La Hacienda which is proving very useful..

La Hacienda del Senorio de Cifuentes is approximately 40 mins drive from Malage airport. You can either take the faster route by going on the AP7 toll road or the N340 which takes a little longer. Malaga airport is serviced by many budget airlines. We usually fly with Monarch, www.flymonarch.co.uk but you can try Easy Jet, Jet 2, Thomsonfly, BMIbaby and Ryanair to name but a few depending on where you live. You can also fly to Gibraltar which is about 50 minutes away.
Car hire is available at the airport and we usually book before we go. We often use Car Jet (wwwcarjet.com) or Do you Spain (www.doyouspain.com) and recently we have used www.brunoscar.com. We advise booking a car well in advance if you intend to holiday in peak season and especially in August.

Guestbook for Luxury Penthouse
Thank you for the rental of your lovely apartment, we had a great holiday. We have visited the costa del sol previously but this was our first visit to Benahavis, this is a lovely clean village with plenty of restaurants and has a pleasant atmosphere. The complex is very clean, tidy and secure and is located in a quiet area. Your apartment was very clean, and well presented and has an amazing view. The complex is ideally located for exploring the costa del sol. We enjoyed San Pedro beach which is easily reached and has plenty of parking and beach bars. We had some relaxing days on the patio enjoying the views and use of the lovely swimming pools. Forgot to say the plants and palms on the patio added to the finishing touches.
We found you very helpful/friendly and informative when booking our holiday and the communication was very good. Your directions to the apartment were very useful.
Thanks again for renting us your apartment.
Kind regards
Joanne, Lee , Ben and Matthew Vickers (Stayed 19 th July to 2nd Aug 2011)
Everything was excellent and your directions were good. The complex was blissfully quiet just what we all neede. Have to say I have only been back at work for 2 days and would give anything to be sitting on the balcony in the evening looking out at the lights with a glass of wine.
Thanks again for all the information you provided and we would definitely recommend your apartment and will keep it in mind for the future.
Thanks again.

Hi Lynn,
We had a great time and it was nice to see a week without clouds after the summer we have had here.
We did love the site and would definitely consider returning for a week next year if you were still going to rent the apartment out.
Cheers, Andy (stayed 20th-27th August
