San Pedro de Alcántara is in an ideal situation, just 10 kilometres west from all the glitz and glamour of Marbella, yet just a few minutes drive away from the natural beauty of the Sierra de Ronda mountain range and 20 km from the town of Estepona. An ancient farming community, once famous for sugar cane, today San Pedro is a refreshingly unspoilt pueblo with an appeal all of its own. Be sure to head for the central plaza here with its gracious parish church and surrounding narrow streets which are packed with intriguing small shops, sidewalk cafes and bars. A pleasant walk is from the centre of town to the beachfront along the Avenida del Marques del Duero which is a particularly attractive wide avenue flanked by palm trees. And the modern wide promenade is ideal for continuing your stroll with several excellent chiringuitos (beachside restaurants) Marbella this vibrant town has much to offer all year round and has become the home to the rich and famous. Marbella has so much to offer the regular holidaymaker, beaches, restaurants, shops and great leisure facilities all year round along with some of the best Golf Courses in the world. No wonder people flock from all over the world to holiday and live in the vibrant and exciting town of Marbella.
The world famous Puerto Banus is located just a few miles from the centre of Marbella and is home to many incredible yachts and boats, with over 300 shops, boutiques and restaurants in the port, this is an emblematic place to visit day or night.
Estepona is the Costa del Sol's most westerly town and is about 20 minutes by car from Marbella and at the foot of the Sierra Bermeja mountains. Originally a fishing village Estepona has developed as a mainly Spanish resort and has managed to avoid too many high rise buildings. It has a much more authentic atmosphere than many of the other towns of the Costa del Sol with typical Andalusian whitewashed houses and balconies decorated with flowers. The houses are whitewashed and iron gates painted every year to maintain the feeling of a cared for town.
How to get there
From Malaga airport by car: Overview Finding the resort is not difficult. On leaving the airport you turn right to join the main road and travel west for 63 kilometres (approx 40 miles) and then turn right and travel 3 kilometres up the hillside.
Please note that Spanish motorways and road junctions in general, do not have exit numbers but are indicated by a kilometre number e.g. km247 which gives the distance to or from the end of that particular road. Handy if you break down!
Detailed instructions From the airport enter the one way system and follow the sign ´MALAGA CADIZ SALIDA´. Then look for the signs E15 N340 MALAGA TORREMOLINOS CADIZ.
At the roundabout carry straight on following the signs for MALAGA CADIZ and move into the right hand lane following the sign N340 TORREMOLINOS CADIZ.
Turn right onto the dual carriageway the N340 for approx 2km staying in the right hand lane and bear right following the blue motorway signs for E15 A7 BENALMADENA ALGECIRAS.
After approx 14 kilometres bear left to follow AP 7 which is the toll road.
At km 200 you will arrive at the tool booth. The toll is 5.85 euros and can be paid in cash or by credit or debit card. Km 184. After the toll booth, follow the AP-7 for a further 18km. and then follow the signs for the A-7 SAN PEDRO DE ALCANTARA ALGECIRAS.
At km 181A bear right to take the A-7 ESTEPONA ALGECIRAS exit. You are now leaving the motorway.
Continue on the A-7 through SAN PEDRO DE ALCANTARA (essentially straight on) and on leaving you will go under an arch over the road which denotes that you have now left the MARBELLA SAN PERDO DE ALCANTARA area.
Km 169 You are now entering ESTEPONA. You will be turning off this road in 3km (km166) The following landmarks will help you to find the exit.
DIANE PARK on the right hand side CROWNE PLAZA left hand side and you go under a footbridge. Commercial centre MUSTANG on the right hand side.
After the next footbridge (immediately after the REPSOL garage) TURN RIGHT passing MERCADONA on your right hand side.
At the next roundabout turn right into Calle del Tenis.
Straight on at the T junction.
At the next T junction take the right hand turn towards BELAIR (tennis club) Follow this road and pass the tennis club on your right. At the fork in the road, take the left hand fork through the pillars (PARAISO ALTO).
Take the first on the left at which is c/ Pinsapo and carry on up the road until you come to a yellow building with green doors on the left hand side after which you will see the entrance gate to the Colina del Paraiso.

Very comfortable and all trimmings were of a very high standard. A luxury at very affordable price for large families. I have recommended these apartments to friends from Gibraltar who have actually stayed there already after my recommendation. May 2009. Fantastic accommodation at a very reasonable price. 5 minute drive to the beach one way and 5 minutes into the countryside the other. The accommodation and facilities are first class with no hidden costs, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be revisiting and have recommended the accommodation to our friends. May 2009.
