The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Costa del Sol is one of Spains most popular tourist destinations.
The main reason is that it boasts a mild climate all year round with an average of 300 sunny days per year. This means it is possible to enjoy the wide range of outdoor activities that are on offer. Also this area has some of the best beaches in Spain.
The shops and restaurants in old town Marbella, white pueblo of Mijas and yachts in Puerto Banus all give this region its well known name for being exclusive. The nightlife in Marbella and Puerto Banus are second to none with beatiful street cafes and elegant hotels and restaurants.
From this area there are lots of day trips to be had a visit to the Alhambra in Granada is a must and only takes 1hr 30 mins from Marbella. There are also beautiful villages such as Ronda, Benahavis, Gaucin, Seville and for a bit of English in Spain why not visit Gibralatar with its mountain of wild monkeys. If you fancy a taste of history there are local bull fights in the Marbella bull ring.
In winter you could also take the short journey upto Sierra Nevada where you can hire equipment and ski for a few hours!
The Costa del Sol is a fabulous place to holiday whether it be for a few days or a few weeks. For the children there are many attractions such as the waterpark, Tivoli amusement park, Boat trips for fishing and Dolphin Watching, horse riding, football clubs in the summer. For the adults there are many fabulous restaurants nearby, golf courses and of course the nightlife in Puerto Banus and Marbella is also just a short taxi ride away!

There are also many local beaches such as Heaven Beach 5mins away, Puro Beach 10 mins away, Plaza Beach 15 mins away, Ocean Club 15 mins away.
