The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Valencia Province region

Valencia is the third biggest city in Spain with a wonderful old town and a beautiful new development around the port area for the America's Cup which will take place in summer 2007. The city has the world famous Fallas fiesta in March as well as summer fiestas in June and July, art exhibiitions and many attractions for visitors throughout the year. Besides the museums and abundance of restaurants and bars, Valencia has the stunning City of Science and Arts which hosts Europe's largest marine park, an excellent science museum, and the striking new opera house. The area has superb blue flag beaches and an excellent year-round climate with temperatures ranging from 12-15 degrees in January to 30 degrees plus in July and August.

Benaguasil area

Benaguasil is a five minute drive and has a large supermarket and traditional bars, bakeries, shops and cafes. As well as Spanish, the local language valenciano is widely spoken but people speak some English. The town has direct access to Valencia by metro and hosts a weekly market on Wednesdays. Nearby is the monastery of Our Lady of Montiel set high in the hills overlooking Benaguasil. Other towns nearby are Cheste (15 minutes) where the grand prix circuit is situated; and Buñol (25 minutes) where the annual Tomatina (tomato throwing) fiesta takes place in August. There are excellent nature trails for walking, hiking and cycling in the nearby Sierra Calderona national park which the villa overlooks.

How to get there

Nearest airport is Valencia which is a 25 minute drive. Taxis cost 25 euros (can be arranged with English driver). easyjet, clickair and Ryanair all have cheap regular flights to Valencia from the UK. Iberia fly from Heathrow to Valencia.

There is air conditioning in the lounge/kitchen and also in the master bedroom with ceiling fans and heaters in all rooms. All bedrooms have DVD and TV. The main TV has satellite television and all UK freeview channels. There is also a Playstation and DVDs/games are available.

Villa has four separate terraces across different levels of property. Huge rear private terrace and entertaining area has an 6-8 person hot tub and also sunbeds, a bar and summer kitchen; a BBQ area and an outside lounge area with Pergola and WC/bathroom. 10m x 5m pool with Roman steps and its own sun terrace. There are decked and paved areas around the villa with fruit and palm trees, vines and bougainvillea.
