Situated in a small traditional French village, Vue de Tournesol is in a quiet residential area with French and English neighbours. The villa is ideal for two families or larger groups.

The open plan layout of the lounge, kitchen and dining room gives the house a social feel with two large french doors leading to the outside terrace where there is outdoor dining for 12 people; great for BBQ's and enjoying the surrounding views. In the lounge is a 42' flat screen tv with English freeview channels, a DVD player and iPod speakers.

The kitchen is well equipped with all you need for a self-catering holiday; Including a microwave, cooker, dish washer and washing machine. There is an island unit that seats 2 people and a dining room table that seats 8. The double bedroom on the ground floor has a shower room and toilet next to it.

Upstairs, there are a further three bedrooms with two single beds in each and the Master Suite has its own dressing room and ensuite. The family bathroom, upstairs has a bath and a shower. A spacious mezzanine area has beautiful views of the Pyrenees and is ideal for relaxing and reading.

The Languedoc-Roussillon region

The Languedoc-Roussillon/Aude region of France enjoys one of the best climates in the country with plenty of sunshine most days which makes this region ideal for many activities such as kayaking, white water rafting, horse riding, golf, cycling, fishing. The Mediterranean is only one hours drive and the nearest ski station is 45 minutes. The Pyrenees/Andorra is two hours away, ideal for walking, skiing and tax free shopping. Spain is just two hours drive. The famous Canal du Midi runs through this area where you can enjoy boat trips or just cycle, stroll or sit in a bar with a glass of local wine..

A visit to Carcassonne must not be missed, especially the Medieval 'La Cite' - an ancient World Heritage Site with its narrow cobbled streets, castle walls and turrets. Lac de Cavayere (Carcassonne beach and lake) is a 20 minute drive . Here, there is a picnic area, sandy beach, canoeing and walks. There is also a superb treetop adventure course.


The village of Belveze du Razes has all the amenities expected of a French village. There is a supermarket 8 A Huit, a boulangerie, boucherie, newsagents, post office, bank, chemist, doctors, hairdressers, dentists, open air public pool, small lake for fishing, tennis courts and a bar ' Cafe le Chene Vert' that produce tasty pizzas. The village holds an annual fete in August (over a long weekend) where there is entertainment, live music , dancing and excellent food and wine. There are numerous caves nearby to sample the French wine. Chateau de Belveze in the village has excellent wine to sample and buy. Nearby is the popular restaurant 'Gayda'

"For Sale - ripped off deposit"

Directions and instructions for the house had to be requested and consisted of the address and being told to use SatNav - our in car one didn't register the road as it is quite new. Not a helpful… More

We're very sorry that you feel the need to give our property a one star when you left a lovely comment in the guest book saying


The bbq was an oversight and has been addressed, so we apologise for that.
The bath plug has been addressed.
Our advert shows our pool as being above ground. With measurements.
The reason the pool is locked is because of the strict safety regulation laws in France regarding private pools. So safety is a must.
The security deposit holding is to be applied against the reasonable cleaning as well as breakages (stated in the booking terms and conditions, also stated on the website)
Our housekeepers have great experience in managing a number of properties in the area, so are well aware of what to expect when guests leave. In this instance there was a substantial amount of extra cleaning and laundry.
With regards to the rubbish. Our housekeepers did not and would not go through guest's rubbish. The house book has all the instructions on rubbish disposal, plus there are labelled recycling boxes. All of which have never been a problem with previous guests. The sorting was of the roadside council bins. A local law because the bin men wont take your rubbish if its not correctly placed in the bins.
There is no photographic evidence of the pool damage because we will have to empty it at the end of the season.
All our bookings will be honoured.
Constructive criticism is always welcome.

"An excellent house in a lovely area"

Vue de Tournesol provided a very high standard of accomodation. It was very clean and the caretakers were most attentive and helpful. The weather was great and the small swimming pool well used. We enjoyed discovering the surrounding area both on foot and by car. The village had a good range of small shops including an excellent butchers. We would highly recommend this property.

"Fantastic holiday home with beautiful views"

Vue de Tournesol offered exactly what we were looking for as a group of 10 friends looking to share a holiday. The property catered for all our needs as a large group, was well presented, modern and clean.

The house offered spectacular views across vineyards which were greatly enjoyed in the sunshine of the garden throughout the day and into the evening. It was particularly lovely to watch the sunset each evening across the vineyards.

It was a brilliant location for making day trips to the surrounding areas with lakes, beaches and beautiful medieval towns. An exhilarating day was also spent canoeing down the river Aude which we would definitely recommend. The property is also situated in a quiet location within walking distance to the village.
