The area around Belturbet is renowned for the quality of its coarse fishing. If you seek peace and tranquillity you can spend your time relaxing in the gallery or sit with a glass of wine on the deck. The Central Ireland / County Cavan region

The County of Cavan is situated just a short hop from Northern Ireland and is one of the most beautifyul counties in Ireland. It has some of the best inland fishing in Ireland. Cavan has some wonderful golf coursesfor players of all standards as well as watersports on the many lakes in the county. The Shannon Pot where the source of the Shannon river is to be found is within 15 minutes of the lodge and is well worth a trip. The Erne waterway boasts breathtaking views and one can hire a boat on site and head off for a day's travel on the water to nearby towns & villages.


Belturbet area

Only a mile from Riverrun, historic Belturbet village is a charming market town situated on the east bank of the River Erne midway between Lough Oughter and Upper Lough Erne. The area around Belturbet is renowned for the quality of its coarse fishing. If you seek peace and tranquillity you can spend your time relaxing in the gallery or a glass of wine on the deck. Wake up to the sun rising over the lake and you can spend your time watching wildlife and boating throughout the day.

Riverrun Estate is located along the banks of the Erne River, just outside the picturesque village of Belturbet. Belturbet is located along the N3 National Road leading from Dublin, via Cavan to Enniskillen.

Turn off the N3 at The Corner Shop, following signs for RiverRun and Emerald Star. Turn right immediately after turning off main N3.

Stay on the road until you see a turning to the right for ‘RiverRun’. Follow the road until the very end where you will see the entrance gates for RiverRun. Press the intercom for admittance to the estate.

There are two separate kitchens & dining areas within the house - one has seating for 6, the other has seating for 4. In addition there are three separate reception areas with seating in each for between 5 & 7 people.

Boat hire & tackle hire are available on site as is fishing on the longest stretch of privately owned river in Ireland.
There are a number of championship golf courses with a 15 minute drive, while there in tennis next to the site and horse riding is available a short distance away.
