Tigh an Oileain offers self catering accommodation for up to 6 people on an island in the picturesque Co. Cavan. This secluded thatched cottage is perfect for a vacation of peace and relaxation and suitable for families, couples or anyone looking to get away from it all. We offer two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a third double bedroom. All bed linen & towels will be freshly supplied. There are 2 shower rooms, one of which is equipped with a jet stream shower. The house has a fully fitted kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, dryer and cooker. There is a large open plan living-dining & kitchen area ideal for socialising and equipped with TV, video, DVD player. For any sailor in the group, a 19 foot boat with 5hp engine is available to hire at Tigh an Oilean. We have made every effort to accommodate all your holiday needs. Tigh an Oileain is available for holiday rentals throughout the year on a weekly or short break basis. The Cavan waterways are Ireland's premier location for game and coarse fishing and have some of the cleanest and most lightly fished fresh waterways in Europe. Tigh An Oileain is situated on an island in the lake of Inishmuck and the massive nearby lake and river systems provide great opportunities for top class angling. Fish-wise you can expect the usual batch of bream, roach, hybrids, skimmers, tench, perch and pike. For trout fishing, few areas are better in Ireland than the Lough Oughter and Erne River areas of County Cavan. Located in a quiet peaceful area with beautiful scenic views all round is a paradise for nature lovers,the people interested in birdwatching can find species such as Grey Heron, Little Egret, Cormorant, Great Crested Grebe, Buzzard and many other types. Ten minutes away with its 600 acres, woven around the lake and islands of Lough Oughter is situated Killykeen Forest Park, where there are walking trails, cycling trails each offering magical views of the wild flora and fauna of the park. Beside the Village of Milltown are the Abbey/Monastery church and round tower of Drumlane which dates back to the sixth century.
