Just to let you know we had a great holiday. Your villa is definitely the nicest that we have stayed in Europe. The size of the bedrooms, the storage space, large pool and super location were all big positives. Regards, Sue and Jon Bullock.
I thought I would drop you a brief note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at your villa. It is a unique spot with special views, we certainly relaxed and chilled out. Best wishes Kevin Ashman.
We had a lovely time. Was very hot but we cooled off in the pool. The air con worked fine. Your villa is huge with plenty of space and in a very pretty setting . Nicola Kersting
I would just like to say how much we enjoyed staying in your villa. It was very spacious with lots of places to sit and while away the day. Peter Woodford
Hi Philip, Just a quick email to say we are loving the villa, the pool is a god send in this weather! Were loving the sunshine. We've just been to the Abbey Bell Tower for dinner, was lovely but quite pricey, I had the kelftico which was stunning! Michelle (Steward) 23 July – 6 August 2011
We are just getting ready to leave your villa, so, I thought I would drop you a quick note.
We have had a great 2 weeks in the villa, it is in a lovely position and is well maintained.
Brian and Dorothy Cook
We are much enjoying the views, facilities and great setting of your villa - thanks. The pool is very popular with the kids. You have a splendid location and a welcoming & relaxed house here - and we are enjoying all aspects of it very much and will be sad to leave at the end of our week. Bill & Bea
We had a wonderful time, the villa was fantastic. I need to write a more detailed comment - more suitable for such a lovely place. Robert & Helen Johonson. 23 June – 7 July 2012.
Hi Philip, we had a great time at your fantastic villa and would have no hesitation in recommending your villa to anyone in the future. Cliff & Gill Frost 14 -28 July 2012.
Hi Philip, we had a fantastic time thank you, the wedding was amazing - I don't think you could find a better setting than the abbey. Your villa is amazing and so well positioned for a walk into Bellapais. We will miss sitting looking at your amazing view enjoying the total and utter peace and tranquility. Large poolside terrace area with a 10 x 5 metre pool with ample outdoor furniture and Cypriot BBQ. There are four terraces, the largest is poolside, plus lounge, bedroom and roof terraces - all with commanding views of mountain and sea. The roof terrace also has views to west and unobstructed view of abbey. Sunbeds/seating to all terraces.
The villa is fine for children, but please note that there are marble steps from the lounge to pool areas. Cot available for £10.00/week.
The Kyrenia region
Kyrenia is approximately 3 miles from the villa. An evening visit to the harbour is essential. There are numerous restaurants to choose from. Choose one with a balcony overlooking the harbour or a rooftop location. Some nice ones right on the water front. The harbour is traffic free. It may be possible to park on the hill down to the harbour, otherwise park in the castle car park. For big meat eaters a visit to Niazis (in centre of town opposite Dome hotel) for 'The Full Kebab' is recommended. The Lagoon (opposite) is also owned by Niazis, but fish. Castles: The crusaders left behind three castles on the Five Finger Mountains: Kantara, Buffavento and St. Hilarion. The latter is the best. You have to pay a small fee to go right to the top, but worth it. Buffavento Castle is only accessible after quite a strenuous walk and a scary drive. Those fit enough to do so will not be disappointed by the view. There are organised mountain walks, or a mountain jeep safari. The tourist office in the harbour will be able to provide all the details. There are dive schools based in the harbour and numerous day trips including visits to beaches, picnics and snorkeling. 'Sail Cyprus' the first Boat as you come into the old harbour next to the tourist information office has been recommended. About £20 for the day inc. lunch. Night trips are also available. The historic castle is located at the eastern end of the harbour and also worth a visit for those interested in the history.
Bellapais has several wonderful restaurants with a perfect for atmosphere for alfresco dining and is just a 15 minute walk. The owners will usually arrange a free taxi from/to the villa. Kybele is our favourite - excellent mezes. If there is a concert during your stay, book the table nearest the abbey. The Bell Tower is also worth a visit. Bellapais Gardens Hotel (2 min walk towards Kyrenia from abbey) does a great moussaka.
