It is located in the typical lake town of Limonta, and offers breathtaking views of the Lecco Branch of Lake Como, towards Varenna. Here you have the advantage of being in the heart of Italian life yet enjoying the comfort of a modern apartment which has picture postcard lake views from each and every angle.
It is within minutes walk of the village centre with it’s characteristic Parish Church, local bar and restaurant and everything that goes with it. The public boat landing is just an 8 minute downhill walk from the property, via foot paths and from there you can take the boat Bellagio and other lake side towns, enabling you to visit Tremezzo, for the well known Villa Carlotta, Lenno, for the National trust property Villa Balbianello and Varenna to visit the beautiful gardens of villa Cipressi and Villa Monastero. There is also an excellent local restaurant on the lake front here.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lake Como, surrounded by mountains, hills valleys and cities of art, has much to offer. It is situated in one of the most economically and industrially important regions (Lombardy) in Northern Italy, nestled between Lake Maggiore and Lake Garda, right on the Swiss boarder, framed by the majesty of the Alps, where different cultures have merged over the centuries to form it’s unique and inimitable charm. We enjoy a varied climate, generally snowy winters, mild springs and warm summers, but being near the water, never too hot and then we have our mountains to escape to just in case.
While staying in Bellagio, you have the opportunity of visiting the whole lake, all the interesting villages, beautiful villas such as Villa Balbianello, where some of 'Casino Royale' was filmed, do some shopping for silk in Como, the silk capital of Italy, visit the neighbouring lakes, especially Lake Lugano which is only 30 minutes away by car and take a trip to St. Moritz, the world famous ski resort, and why not take a trip on the Bernina express train across the glacier enjoying outstanding scenery on the way. (Ask me for details of all these trips). Milan is 70 kms away and what better place to be if you like the 'big name' shops.
Bellagio area
Bellagio is known as the 'Pearl of lake Como' not only because of it's strategic position but also because of it's characteristic atmosphere and warm welcome which visitors receive. Walk the cobbled streets, visit the typical shops, especially the silk shops, Bellagio has it's own small silk industry and you may be surprised to see shops selling Christmas tree decorations, made in blown glass, they are all made in Bellagio!
Of course, Bellagio is not short of gardens and villas to visit, 19th century Villa melzi is on the lake front and you can enjoy a tour of the famous Villa Serbelloni, the Rocafella foundation property, which sits on the hill top dominating the 'borgo' the old part of the town.
Within 30 minutes you can reach other towns, such as Lezzeno, Nesso, Onno, Vassena, Magreglio, Lecco . For those who want to head further a field, within a 90 minutes drive you have the cities of Como, Milan and Bergamo which are three of the most important cities in Northern Italy.
This is an ideal base if you are planning a walking holiday, there are some great hikes which start from Limonta, or where you can relax and enjoy being part of the village, or explore the whole lake, either by car or ferry.
How to get there
Lake Como and especially Bellagio, is well served by the 3 airports near Milan - the closest being Bergamo, then Linate and then MalpensaMalpensa, Linate and Bergamo. Airlines are Ryan air, Easyjet, Alitalia, British airways, Flybe and many more
Though less than 50 miles from most of the airports, the apartment is about 90 minutes by car, on good roads. Car hire available at the airport includes: Hertz, Avis, Holiday Autos.

Further details indoors: The apartment consists of, on the ground floor: light and airy open plan kitchen/dining area, offering outstanding views of the lake, and leads out to the lake view terrace where you have table and chairs to relax and enjoy afternoon tea or an early evening cocktail watching the sun go down. The fully equipped kitchen has all the necessary for you during your stay, weather you intend to cook or just use it for preparing breakfast during your stay. We have recently installed an 'infra red cabin From the kitchen/dining area you can access one of the bedrooms, which has an en suite bathroom with tub and handheld shower. The bedroom has a queen size bed with plenty of wardrobe space. First Floor: From the living area, there is a spiral staircase, consisting of 15 steps, to the other large bedroom and bathroom. This is a very characteristic ‘mansarda’ which means that it has a sloping roof with wooden beams and it’s own lake view terrace, an en suite bathroom with shower unit In this bathroom there is a washing machine and dryer.(iron and ironing board are also provided).
The apartment is also ideal for people with mobility problems as there are no stairs to the entrance and there is a bedroom and en suite bathroom on this level.
This unusually furnished apartment had a mix of modern and antique furniture, making it unique and interesting. There are ancient pieces such as the Luis XV chairs and a very old bedroom suite which once belonged to a cardinal and then there is the modern kitchen with all the facilities you could possibly need and on the ground floor, a brand new king size bed awaits you.
The upper floor bedroom is very big and has king size bed and 2 single beds and there is also a lake view terrace here. The views from the balcony are stunning, you won't want to leave the apartment and feel free to relax here all day is you so desire, no one will disturb you while you sun-bathe or just sit and look at the beautiful mountains, lake and its characteristic villages. NEW FEATURE- WE HAVE JUST INSTALLED AN 'INFRA RED' CABIN IN OUR APARTMENT, THIS WILL HELP YOU RELAX AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR ACHES AND PAINS DURING YOUR STAY.
