Island View is located between the majestic Northumberland Heritage coasts with long sandy epic beaches and a wide range of fascinating castles and historic sites, and the inspiring Northumberland National Park and the Cheviots.

Edinburgh, Northumberland National Park, Scottish Borders and the Lake District are within easy reach for a day trip.


There are unlimited fantastic walking and cycling routes from the door - the property is well stocked with maps and leaflets on the local attractions to help you make the most of your stay.

Island View is located in the picturesque hamlet of Warenton, previously a staging post and now a small community of permanent residences and holiday lets. It is within easy reach (2 mile walk) or 5 mins drive to Belford, a picturesque town, known as the 'gateway to the secret kingdom'. It has a number of facilities including: Sunnyhills Farm Shop and Cafe, Supermarket, pharmacy, pubs and restaurants.

The coast is within easy reach of the house, with a number of glorious sandy beaches just minutes away. There are endless fantastic walking and cycling opportunities on the coast and also in the spectacular nearby Northumberland National Park.

Great places to visit within the local area include: Bamburgh Castle and picturesque beach and village; Belford, Alnwick castle, garden and town; Chillingham Castle and Wild Cattle; Chatton village; Wooler and the Cheviots; Seahouses harbour and boat trips; multiple beaches and castles across the region.

"Very quiet location, far from sea than expected"

The house is very easy to find (the description from Vicky and Jon is very good). Although not far away from A1, very quiet location. We expected it is closer to the beach - it was necessary to go by car approx. 8 miles for running on the beach every morning (Bambourgh). The house was ideal for two families like we were (2 families with small kids).

"Beautiful cottage, had a fab holiday here!"

Have just stayed at Island View for 3 nights with my partner and our 3 year old son. The cottage is very big and extremely well equipped - we didn't even need to use most of the toiletries we brought. Its very clean and the bedrooms are lovely, my son loved the huge garden out the front and was very excited about the whole trip! There are lots of lovely places to eat and visit within 5-10 minutes driving distance. (warenton, belford, bamburgh) We visited Bamburgh Castle and Beach, Seahouses, which are only 5-10 mins drive and also the beautiful alnwick gardens and holy island which are about a 20 minute drive. Very peaceful, relaxing place - great location to visit all the nearby attractions and good if you like walking/cycling. Owners respond very quickly to emails, returned our deposit straight away and very kindly posted some items to us we had left. Would definately recommend this cottage for anyone wanting to visit and explore Northumberland.

"Great house and location"

We really enjoyed our stay at Island View, the house is well equipped, deceptively spacious and has been renovated to a very high standard. The location was ideal for us, the house is in a hamlet called Warrenton which seems to be in the middle of nowhere (which we loved) but is only 2 miles from the A1 and a great central location for all the great activities the area has to offer. The garden is big and secure for the little ones to play out and enjoy, already booked to come back at Christmas. Mark and Kate
