The Belfast region

Belfast has undergone an amazing renaissance of recent years. Although there are still reminders of its troubled past in the form of political murals and the peace wall, the city is now thriving thanks to its combination of these unique tourist attractions, vibrant nightlife, fantastic shopping and friendly locals.
The Belfast City / Cathedral Quarter area
The Cathedral Quarter is known as the cultutal heart of the city, our own bijou Temple Bar or Covent Garden. At it's heart lies St Anne's Cathedral but it is also home to the city's publishing houses and the art college. This region is littered with gems as diverse as the John Hewitt, a non-profit pub named after the local poet, where you can hear traditional live music, and The Merchant Hotel, a 5* opulent hotel.
Famous restaurants such as The Mourne Seafood Bar (awarded Best Restaurant in Northern Ireland) and Deane's (Belfast's only Michelin-starred restaurant) are within walking distance, as well as tourist hotspots such as The Belfast Wheel and the political murals.

I had never been to Belfast before and was really looking forward to seeing what it had to offer. Myself and my friend Gillian stayed in this adorable flat which was literally a few mins walk away... more |

I stayed here with my husband for the weekend and whilst the apartment was central, clean and warm we also had some problems. Namely I could not get enough hot water for a shower and the bedroom faces onto a open court yard so you can hear everything at night including everyone getting in and out of the lift and every apartment door opening and closing. I found this made it difficult to sleep. Response: Hi Catherine, I'm sorry to hear that you had a problem with the hot water, this isn't usually an issue and if I had been made aware I would have got this fixed for you. I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of the apartment and it's close proximity to all Belfast has to offer |

This apartment is very chic, clean and comfortable. The city's main areas for shopping and night-life were all within walking distance. The hostess was fabulous and went out of her way to make the stay perfect. Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay; it was a pleasure having you and I'm glad you enjoyed the places I recommended. Thank you so much for your kind comments |
