House | 5 bedrooms | sleeps 8
The Laurels is situated in the hills on the outskirts of Belfast with magnificent views over the city. Designed by owner architect it is a contemporary home with all the modern amenities you might expect but based on the vernacular style it echoes Contemporary Irish architecture.
Located within 15mins drive of the city centre it offers a secluded countryside location with fantastic proximity both to the city and transport links further afield. This brand new 5 bedroom house provides modern open and spacious accommodation for the discerning traveller, in an ideal location for a tour of the north of Ireland. 1 hours drive will take you to the Giants Causeway. 1.5 hours drive will get you to the historic walled city of Derry and from there to the rugged beauty and pristine beaches of Donegal.
Closer to home the drumlins and coastline of picturesque County Down offer numerous opportunities for exploring, walking in the Mourne Mountains or boat tripping in the stunning Strangford Lough.
Still closer to home you have Belfast and all the delights this up and coming city has to offer, from museums, art galleries, both cutting edge and historical architecture to golf courses and marinas and of course a multitude of superb eateries and pubs. 15 minutes in the car will get you to the new Titanic Museum, St Anne's Square and the stunning MAC gallery. Belfast zoo is a 20 minute drive away.
Even closer to home the local amenities in Cherry Valley offer a variety of shops and a great local restaurant / bar, The Lonely Poet a ten minute walk downhill! A 15 minute walk the other way will bring you to the fantastic 18 hole Castlereagh Golf Course, a lovely course with fantastic views over Scrabo Tower to Strangford Lough and beyond.
With Ireland at your feet, you may choose simply to relax in a beautiful space, enjoy the view from a comforting window seat, as you look across the acre of gardens with mature trees to Belfast and the hills beyond. Relax in the open plan Living room or the Lounge (with wood burning stove for those rainy evenings). Cook a gourmet meal in the state of the art kitchen and enjoy it al fresco (weather permitting!) on the patio, at the breakfast bar or in the open plan dining area with your feet being warmed by the underfloor heating. This home was designed for family and will ensure you and yours a comfortable, warm, homely base for your Irish adventure!
