In our bed & breakfast we have four delightful,bright and nicely furnished, very comfortable rooms from 45 euros per bedroom including breakfast for two people. We are easily accessed from Carcassonne or Perpignan Airports(Ryanair) and Toulouse Airport with excellent value Easyjet, or British AIrways, or by train at Foix. We are very reasonably priced from 45 euros in a bedroom for 2,including good breakfasts which are served in our large kitchen diner, or in the (joli-jardin)garden weather permitting. All the rooms are nicely decorated and are very comfortable, bright and airy.

Carcassonne Airport just 45 mins or Perpignan or Toulouse 90 mins to this comfortable four bedroom bed and breakfast located in the Midi Pyrennes, a wonderful area of SW France. We have a large kitchen / diner which opens out to our "joli-jardin" where, weather permitting, we serve breakfasts in the summer months. Larger parties can be accommodated as we have many spacious rooms, just let us know your details and we will help all we can.Christmas Parties or wedding groups or if you have an aniversary or birthday we can do something special for you. Just ask. Whether you are house hunting or climbing mountains, skiing or visiting friends, we will have an idea for you. Our house is part of an old 18th century "relais de poste" and we have a terrace and four lawns with lots of flowers, and we back on to Belesta forest so it is very peaceful. We have tried to equip the house so that your holiday is comfortable and you have your own space, you can have a rest, or walk for miles, or take part in the many activities that are in this wonderful area. You can ski.climb mountains, visit castles or just have a rest. There are many water activities within 30 mins or so, and skiing in the winter too. You will find that the skiing is a lot cheaper here. So we have lots here in SW France for you to see and do and we will look after you very well, so come and visit, see what you think.
We have also now got a small games room, where we have things like an excercise bike, step machine and darts for you, so you can eat as much as you like - and then excercise and have the best of both worlds. This has proved to be very popular indeed!
So if you want a peaceful break, or a walking holiday, skiing or an historical trip to Cathar castles, in a comfortable bed and breakfast, this is the place to come!

The Midi-Pyrenees / Ariege region
Christmas in the Snow the Visit the pretty little village of Belesta, which nestles at the foothills of the magnificent Pyrenees, close to Ski Station Monts d'Olmes for really reasonably priced skiing. Our chambres d'hotes can cater for up to ten-12 people.If you want to get away from it all, the Midi-Pyréenés is the largest official region of France, offering stunning vistas, good summer weather and a unique and very varied landscape. Fontestorbes Intermittent fountain is just one of six oin the world so a is good attraction in the village.The ski resorts at Mont D'Olmes offers an economical alternative to those of the French Alps, and this area is dotted with thermal resorts.Monts D'Olmes is a family ski resort just 30-40 mins away, with a bus service from a nearby village. We have a massive "vide grenier" (loft sale) here on 1st November so if you love looking at lots of bargains there are usually more than 100 stalls to see. This is held during the Pumpkin Festival, 29-30-31 October and 1st November. There is lways some thing going on and lots to see and do.
You have everything you want here, sunshine, glorious scenery, lavender fields, lots of historic interest, (the Route of the Cathares, the famous Chateau of Montsegur). Skiing at nearby Monts D'Olmes too. We are very centrally situated. Carcasonne Airport is just 45 mins away, and Toulouse and Perpignan Airports both 1 hr 30 mins away.
Should you wish to drive , it takes approx 10 hours from the Dover ferry crossing and is a very straightforward route.
We are very fortunate, as we have Skiing from December to March usually, and the spring and autumn are lovely times here and the summer is excellent as you have brilliant weather, but not the humidity as we are close to the mountains.
Belesta area
In Belesta, we have most of the things you would need, the bank, post office, cash machine,chemist, butcher, baker, supermarket etc are all within minutes of our chambres d'hotes. Very reasonably prices skiing is available at the Ski Station at Monts d'Olmes, about 1/3 of the price of other ski resorts-so it is ideal for families. In the summer a relaxing trip to Lac Montbel or Puivert Lake is a must-very quiet and natural areas. You can climb mountains, visit gorges or chateaux, take a trip in a microlite or go karting, rafting in fact most things are within easy reach for your holiday. It is such a beautiful area with mountains and forests and little villages to explore. The wonderful scenery changes with the seasons so we are open for visitors all the year round. We are ideally situated for walking, skiing, fishing ,house hunting or just having a well earned rest! There is so much to see, and you will enjoy the break from the pressures of work and and home. Just 15 minutes from the International Karting Circuit, also on the famous Route of the Cathars, we are centrally situated to explore this lovely area. We have Fonstestorbes Intermittent Fountain, one of about only 6 in the world, which,during the summer months, stops about every 30 minutes and you are able to walk actually inside the caves, so this a a great attraction just outside Belesta village.
There are just so many places to see in this region; here are just a few ideas: Monts d'Olmes is just about 40 mins away and has good facilities for families wishing to ski.
Mirepoix: there is a very busy market on a Monday in this medieval city . Mirepoix dates back to the 12c and there are still the wooden "covers" with magnificent carvings to see. There are lots to do in the area, for all age groups. from the Prehistoric Park to canoeing, from train trips to underground river trips. There are so many chateaux and castles, you will be spoilt for choice. There are many markets to visit and festivals and brocantes to see and you must not miss the "vide greniers" the equivalent of a carboot sale all of which are in easy reach of this central location. We are on the historic Route of the Cathars.The Castle at Montsegur should not to be missed and there are lovely lakes to visit and mountains to climb. This area is a paradise for walkers, cyclists, motor cyclists, families of all ages , and everyone who wants to "get away from it all" and just relax with a wander around and a glass (or 2 )of wine .
Only a short distance away(90mins) are Spain or Andorra with its famous duty free shopping! Another lovely place to visit is Ax les Thermes on the way to Andorra, where there is a natural spa too. You are only 20 mins away from beautiful Lac Montbel with its little beach, and only 90 mins away from beautiful Canet Plage on the coast. So you can see, whatever you want to do, it is here waiting for you. Belesta village has a bank, a post office with cash machine, butchers, bakers, chemist, greengrocers, and a supermarket and also a garage, all of which are essential to make that holiday easy rather than a chore. There are twoo bars, most important, and both have small restaurants. Within 10-15 mins in the car there are a good choice of local restaurants to suit every taste, either open air by a lake (which is great in the summer) or a traditional restaurant and prices are still very reasonable in this area, again most important when you have a family. Come and see us and you will see what I mean.
How to get there
Ryanair fly to Carcassonne Airport which is just 45 minutes by car.
Flights also available into Toulouse and Perpignan both about 1 1/2 hrs away. Which ever route you take, the scenery is wonderful.
Car hire is available at the airport and given the drive to the property - is highly recommended.
From Carcassone airport; turn right out of the airport D119 to Mirepoix; then take the D625 to Lavelanet,and then the D117 to Belesta and we are just on your right as you get into the town.

Further details indoors: All rooms are comfortably furnished and we are WIFI so you can keep in touch with home. Evening meals are available if required, just let us know when you book, if require a meal on your first night. First floor: One large and bright (15m2) double bedroom with an old wooden floor. and one comfortable bedroom (20m2)which has two single beds and also a double bedsettee as well. On this floor there is a Shower room, with w/c and washbasin and bidet. Second floor: A really big and comortable room (25m2)which has two single beds and an original wooden floor , and a second big bedroom (20m2) with 3 good singles beds in it and this room has an old brick floor. Again on this floor is a shower room with w/c. and basin. We also have a self catering apartment, see property number 17479. So you will see that we have very versatile accommodation and whatever you want we can usually provide it. All the rooms have good quality bedding and are nicely decorated and are clean and bright and airy. We supply tea making facilities,hairdryers and towels and all linen so no need to pack them in your case. Secure parking available if required.

In our large garden, we have tables, chairs, and sunbeds and umbrellas etc. all that you require for that relaxing summer holiday glass of wine or two in the evening.
