The Mediterranean Coast region
The Mediterranean Region has a Mediterranean climate characterized by warm, relatively humid winters and hot, dry summers. In winter temperatures can go as high as 24 C and in summer it is in the upper 30's. You can swim year-round except some wet weeks in the winter, because the water temperatures never drops below 15-16 C and can be as high as 20 C in winter, and in summer the water can reach 29-30 C climate is also very dry.
Belek area
The Belek region is located 30 kilometres on the east side of Antalya on the Mediterranean coast. Belek is a newly developing and a fast growing town with streets lined with palm trees. The town has developed into an exclusive residential area with well built villas and luxurious Apartments. It offers a large variety of shops, restaurants, nightlife and all year round activities. In addition to the social aspects there medical facilities, security and public conveniences.
Belek is in the progress of becoming the all year golf capital of Europe. Currently, there are 9 PGA approved golf clubs, totalling 11 full size courses and 3 more courses are in the process of construction. The courses offer a real challenge as well as they offer the combination of the Mediterranean Sea and the Taurus Mountains, passion and peace. The golf facilities enable individuals and groups to play throughout the twelve months of the year including the winter sunshine period that averages over six sunshine hours a day, 300 days of sunshine annually for the region.
The surrounding historical attractions can only provide you with increased enjoyment:- Saklikent Ski Resort, what other places in the world can you play golf and sunbathe at the beach and then drive for one hour thirty minutes and ski. Only a few miles to the west is Antalya with its surprising harbour and ancient city and where Turkish handicrafts that have begun to be recognized internationally can be bought. Antalya has the added benefit of being a modern city with all the usual attractions, also having an Old Town with views of the Mediterranean Sea. There are the ancient cities of Perge, Side and Aspendos all within an hour of Belek Turkey.
How to get there
Belek town is located only 25 km from the International airport in Antalya. Cheap flights available from most of the UK airports. Airport transfers and car hire available upon request. There are always local taxis available.
