Begur area

The beautiful medieval town of Begur and its surrounding coves, beaches and bays is one of the most sought after areas of the Costa Brava. Begur sits high on a hilltop, some 700 feet above sea level, and is constructed around the remains of an ancient defensive fort dating from the 17th century.

Begur provides easy access to a number of surrounding bays in this beautiful stretch of rugged, Costa Brava coastline, including Playa de Pals, Illa Roja, Sa Riera, Aiguafreda, Sa Tuna, Aiguablava and Fornells.

The town also commands wonderful inland views over the area known as the Baix Emporda, including the medieval town of Pals, the hills of Torroella de Montgri and the snow capped Pyrenees mountain range.

Begur enjoys beautiful views of the Costa Brava coastline – to the Islas Medes, Estartit and the Bay of Roses to the north and to Palamos, Playa de Aro and Sant Feliu de Guixols to the south.

How to get there

Coast and Beaches

Sa Riera and Sa Tuna, the nearest beaches to Villa El Roco, are two of the Baix Emporda's finest. The beaches are a 5-10 minute walk from the villa or 3 mintues by a car. There are several beach side restaurants at both as well as a supermarket, a sandwich/salad bar and a shop selling all you need for a day on the beach.

There are countless other bays and beaches within a short drive, including the beautiful Tamariu and Calella de Palafrugell.

Golf
The property is within about 8 minute drive of 3 excellent 18 hole courses (Golf Playa de Pals, Golf Emporda, Golf Serres de Pals), so a perfect location for winter and summer golfers.

Skiing
The nearest ski slopes of the Spanish Pyrénéen are only 1 hour drive from Begur.

Conditions

For clients staying for more than one week, an extra cleaning service can be provided at extra cost.
Saturday is changeover day and guests are kindly requested to vacate the villa by 10.00 H. New arrivals can check in from 16.00 H.
