Rooftop swimming pool with views to the castle

Apartment | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 5

Key Info
  • Beach or lakeside relaxation
  • Swimming Pool
  • Great for children of all ages
  • Pets welcome

This comfortable, bright and spacious apartment is close to all the shops, bars and restaurants in the village. From the living area and terraces you will enjoy beautiful mountain views and amazing sunsets. The rooftop swimming pool can be accessed by lift and boasts several large terraces with views over the village and its medieval castle.

There are 3 bedrooms - one double with exit to a small terrace with a table and 2 chairs, one single with a pull-out bed and one with adult-sized bunk beds. One bathroom with bath & shower and hair dryer. The apartment is provided with a TV, wifi internet, DVD player, electric heating, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave oven, toaster, coffee machine, iron and several fans.

The most beautiful coves and beaches of the Costa Brava such as Aiguablava, Sa Riera, Calella, Tamariu and Pals are just a short drive away. During the summer season a bus service operates between Begur and some of its beaches. There are also buses to/from Girona and Barcelona, more info on www.Renfe.es.

Nearby you will find a number of charming medieval villages such as Pals, Peratallada, Torroella de Montgrí and Palau-Sator. Most of the region's best golf courses are readily accessible within a 25 km radius - from contemporary 3, 4 and 5 star beach and golf resorts to some of the most enticing historic castle hotels and elegantly converted old farmhouses, all with histories dating back centuries. There is literally something to accommodate every taste and budget.

Visiting golfers of countries other than Spain are not required to obtain a licence from the Spanish federation but must provide a valid handicap certificate from their home club or their home federation. Beginners and players without a valid handicap are welcome on some courses but may have to play accompanied by a professional or have to play later in the afternoon in company of a competent partner.

The small town of Figueres near the border with France is remarkable as the birthplace of Salvador Dali and is now home to the Dali Museum. Whether you are passionate about surreal art or just have a passing interest in Dali, this is worth a visit. Even the kids will appreciate the bizarre but highly accessible work of the Spanish artist.

Last, but not least, is the amazing array of water sports that can be practiced in this region. Large bays with waves and wind for windsurfing and yachting. Miles and miles of coastline with coves, cliffs, long beaches and fully-equipped harbours for enjoying all the pleasure of sailing. Marine reserves where you can immerse yourself in the blue, mirrors of water to glide over, and a wild, rugged coastline to discover ..

And some interesting background info:

Located in the heart of Empordà, the unspoiled northern part of the Costa Brava, Begur is a town steeped in history. Beneath the shelter of its medieval castle herdsmen, fishermen, bottle cork manufacturers and emigrants returning from the Americas have contributed to the pages of the town's history. Being a small town with deep rooted customs, the weekly market (Wednesdays) forms an important part of the town's commercial life.

Begur enjoys a shoreline of unparalleled beauty. Its cliffs and pines, the crystal waters of its hidden coves and its abrupt coastline, make this area the most characteristic of the Costa Brava. Begur has eight coves and beaches of different characters and natural beauty.

Begur's coastal paths are one of its main attractions. Historically they are old paths crisscrossing the coast and were mainly used by customs officers keeping an eye on tobacco smugglers, fishermen and sailors. Nowadays they are used not only as a path between the various coves but also for ambling or hiking among a magnificent landscape.

Our regional cuisine is justly renowned and the benevolent climate ensures many warm, sunny days from spring through to autumn.
