"Didn't look like the pictures"
Very overpriced. The view on one side is spectacular but evey other side was obscured by plastic. The photos lead you to believe the property has a level of class where the dumped desks out the front,… More
We have never had a guest response like this in 8 years!! The views are spectacular-better than any photo can ever portray.Guests from around the world say it compares to some of the best views they have seen!! We are building a cellar and viewing area at the far end of the buildings away from current activities which required excavation and is has an elevated accessible concrete deck-it required temporary orange netting for warning/protection."Plastic everywhere"around the house seems to refer to commonly used clear see-through PVC drop-down weather blinds which are can enclose the popular and well built and lit extension outdoor dining areas from the kitchen-dining rooms at the Eastern(non major view end) of the Homestead(which other guests LOVE! These purpose-made blinds can be raised or lowered as guests require using attached cords. We only asked that they are not totally unzipped to the very top at the joins as they are very difficult to connect, but they can be fully rolled up nevertheless. The price? This is a big very comfortable well appointed property in a spectacular setting accommodating 15 persons-thats $40 per head per night!!We are not claiming The Ritz or even luxury! As this is a 32 acre operating farm in effect it is not meticulously landscaped in EVERY detail-but we are ever expanding that aspect."Dumped desks" is a puzzle-we have a table outside the main door which is laminated solid hardwood in excellent order, another plain table outside the Self Contained rooms for guests to leave luggage on at arrival. It is in good undamaged condition.Let me just say our own guest book and repeat bookings tell a very different story and many guests thank us for the privilege of staying in such a place and cannot understand why we wouldnt live there all the time.
