The North Wales region

North Wales is a great combination of the family seaside resorts, which extend along its northern coastline and of course the magnificent mountains that make up Snowdonia Nation Park. Also located in this region are the very distinctive Island of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula. So visitors will find a diverse holiday destination that caters for many different types of holidays from the family beach holiday to serious climbing holidays, and lots in between. There are plenty of things to do here; walking, sailing, fishing and many indoor attractions for the children. Wildlife enthusiasts will not be disappointed, with Anglesey and the Lleyn peninsula in particular being rich in diverse mix of habitats.

Beddgelert

Despite its deep rural location the lovely Welsh coastline is within relatively easy reach. The Dinas Dinlle beach for example, is approximately twenty minutes away by car and is the location for a much loved café by the sandy beach. History lovers and all those who appreciate ancient buildings will be in their element here for within an easy car journey are the awe-inspiring castles of Caernarfon, Harlech, Beaumaris and Conwy. Built as a means of suppressing the Welsh people these buildings today have an utterly different role and are major tourist attractions and well worth the journey time. A super way of exploring the area is via the much loved Welsh Highland Steam Railway. This travels from Caernarfon to Porthmadog via the delightful village of Rhyd Ddu. Television buffs may care to visit the celebrated village of Portmeiron. The design of the village took inspiration from an Italian style and is best known as the location for the ever-popular television series- The Prisoner. To the north-west lies Anglesey, the spiritual heartland of Wales and the location for magnificent walking and cycling trails. For a fun filled day highly recommended is a visit to Wales's premier coastal holiday town- Llandudno. This has been welcoming and entertaining holiday makers for generations and offers numerous attractions and holiday amenities.
