The North Wales region

This area of outstanding natural beauty contains rugged mountains including Snowdon (the highest peak in England & Wales), wooded forests, stunning coastlines with sandy beaches and rocky coves. Mountain streams with waterfalls, running into crystal clear lakes and rivers. These amazing landscapes allow for a wealth of outdoor activites.

The area is also steeped in culture and history. There are castles and stately homes, the famous gardens at Bodnant and the mock Italianate village of Portmeirion. There are also plenty of attractions aimed at children including farms and theme parks.

Beddgelert

This picturesque village is nestled between steep mountain slopes and wooded hillsides. The Rivers Glaslyn and Colwyn meet at the ancient bridge in the centre of the village.

Beddgelert has been welcoming visitors for hundreds of years and boasts a range of amenties including many shops, pubs and cafes, a church and a children's playarea. Amongst the village shops are many gift shops, craft workshops and galleries, a Post Office and a general store for groceries.

A recent addition to the village is the steam railway station, less than 5 minutes walk from Coed Gelert. The Welsh Highland Railway has been re-instated, creating a spectacular 25 mile scenic journey between Caernarfon and Porthmadog.
