About the home

A charming detached, stone built, converted water mill situated in the award winning village of Lunas. A truly romantic property which would ideally suit couples. The private and secluded property is set in a large picturesque garden on the banks of the River Orb and features a large bespoke swimming pool, for the exclusive use of our guests. There are various outdoor entertaining areas overlooking the crystal clear waters of the river.

The surrounding area offers many lovely walking and hiking possibilities as well as fantastic fishing and sailing on the Lac du Salagou which is less than 15 km away. The village of Lunas has various restaurants and bars ranging from a delightful Chateau where meals may be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the river and village beyond, a charming stone vaulted Auberge, and a lovely local snack bar where you can sit on the terrace with the locals watching the world go by. During the summer months regular entertainment is offered in the Village.

Quiet and secluded location yet only two minute walk into village centre.

Swimming pool will only be available during the summer months as it is unheated.
There is an English speaking representative on hand to maintain the pool and answer any questions.

25% non refundable deposit required to secure booking and balance due eight weeks prior to arrival date.
A £200 refundable breakages/cleaning deposit will be required at the time of making final balance payment which will be returned within 14 days subject to a satisfactory property inspection.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Herault region

The Languedoc-Roussillon region is an area of outstanding beauty with breathtaking scenery and many picturesque villages nestled into the hillsides. The area is a large producer of wine with some very good local vineyards close by to replenish your wine stocks. Some of the greatest appellations of the region being the well known, Fitou, Corbieres and Minervois.
You will find some lovely sandy beaches less than an hours drive away, the closest being at Meze which is less than 40 miles away and close to the beautiful fortified fishing town of Sete where throughout the summer the famous canal jousting takes place. The area is also renound for its delicious seafood restaurants with a particular speciality being locally farmed oysters.

The Bedarieux area

Closer to home you will find a whole range of activities to suit all tastes, including;
The world famous spa and cosmetic producers at Avene.
The Lerab Ling Buddhist Temple is only 15 minutes drive.
An outstanding golf course with a lovely restaurant close to Lamalou les Bains.
Discover the Cirque de Navacelles, a natural gorge with a village deep within.
There are many rivers and lakes with crystal clear waters for cooling off.
Excellent fishing at the Lac Du Salagou - less than 20 minutes away.
For the more adventurous there is canoeing in the gorges at Roquebrun.

The Village of Lunas itself has a delightful small water park with lake and snack bar and picnic areas. During the Spring/Summer months the Friends of Lunas host various activities including the annual Pentecost Flea Market, The Lunas Fete which runs for three days in August with live bands and barbecues in the village square.

Car hire is available at all of the airports listed above, it is wise to pre book to avoid the queues. Holiday Autos offer a small four door family car with air conditioning for approximately £125.00 per week. For no additional cost this could be collected from one airport and returned to another if more convenient ie. collect at Montpellier upon arrival and drop off at Nimes if this is your preferred departure airport.
