Bédar is a traditional Spanish village 1,300 feet above sea level in the Sierra de los Filabres mountains. There are many viewpoints in the village that benefit the breathtaking views all the way down to the coast and the Mediterranean and this property has some of the best to offer.

The property comprises and entrance hall off which there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master double bedroom has an en suite bathroom and air conditioning and the second bedroom is provided as a twin.

On the first floor there is a wooden beamed open plan lounge-diner with shuttered windows to two aspects, an open fire place and satellite television; an Andalucia style kitchen and separate utility area.

On the next level of the internal staircase you will find the solarium from where the best of the aforementioned views can be taken. The solarium has a dining table and chairs, gazebo and seating areas.

Tastefully furnished with a Moroccan theme the property is suitable for those wanting to relax in the village life perhaps walking to the local tapas bars and weekly market or those looking to take longer walks out in to the countryside.

The village does have several bars and restaurants as well as a small supermarket and bank. The streets can be quite steep in places and a car would be recommended if you wanted to explore other local villages or the nearest beaches of Mojácar, Garrucha and Vera at around 15 minutes away.

Only 150 metres from the house there is a municipal swimming pool that opens in July and August and can be used for a nominal fee of around a Euro per day.

Airport transfer times from Almería and Murcia are approximately 50 minutes and 1½ hours respectively.

The Andalucia region

The Costa Almeria coast is completely unspoilt. There is the rugged and desolate coast of the Cabo de Gata natural park; an arid desert landscape where visitors feel a sense of exploration as many of the coves can only be reached on foot. This area is particularly popular with nature lovers and back-packers. The most popular coastal village is San José which is around 45 minute drive from the house. Granada is approximately 2 and a half hours drive away where you can visit the famous Alhambra Palace. The city of Almeria is around a 40 minute drive away where you can visit the historic port and old town.

The village of Bedar is a tradition, working village with exceptional panoramic views down to the coast. It has several bars and restaurants as well as a small supermarket, bank, post office, chemist and doctors surgery. The streets can be quite steep in places and a car would be recommended if you wanted to explore other local villages or the nearest beaches of Mojácar, Garrucha and Vera at around 15 minutes away. There is a village market on Wednesdays and an Arts Centre at which is taught pottery and painting. There is a bakery just a few minutes walk from the house where you can pick up freshly made warm bread for breakfast. There are many routes in the area for walking and cycling, not least around the old mines, for which the area is known. There are four golf courses within a 30 minutes drive of the house, one being the world famous Desert Springs.
