Hayloft is our premier cottage situated in the small Richmondshire village of Patrick Brompton, four miles from Bedale. Newly created in the stable block adjacent to our Grade II** listed Patrick Brompton Hall, we give you modern luxurious accommodation with' boutique-hotel' designed interiors in a tranquil setting. Ideal for couples or honeymooners as their base whilst exploring the Yorskhshire Dales and surrounding areas. Hayloft definitely has the wow factor and is twice the size of Groom's Rooms and Tack Room, our other properties listed on this site.

Hayloft is set on a private estate with mature woodlands, formal gardens and sheep grazing in the meadows. The cottage apartment offers you a rural setting for your holiday without sacrificing a contemporary interior-designed interior in the style of a boutique luxury hotel, yet retaining character and charm with features such as original beams and windows. Bathe at the foot of your huge super-king bed in your freestanding bath. Take a shower in your adjacent walk -in shower room with underfloor heating and italian bespoke tiles. Sip champagne at the stone-clad breakfast bar. We have given you a tv at the foot of your bed AND in your living area. Probably the ultimate luxury retreat in the Yorkshire Dales

Located on the first floor of an historic stable block, Hayloft has shared use with our 3 other cottages, Tack Room, Groom's Rooms and Head Lad, of decked areas, set out over the beck that flows through the estate from high up in the Dale. We also allow guests to book and use our hard tennis court by arrangement during the summer months. These Dales self-catering apartments are in a superb holiday location, where horse lovers will enjoy watching the horses, plus wild trout can be seen in the beck, the ponds have flighting ducks and there is plenty of birdsong. Take a stroll to The Green Tree pub in the village, where a good selection of real ales are available. Nearby, there are many interesting attractions and places to see, including the market town of Bedale and delightful Leyburn, which offers craft workshops, a chocolate maker, shops and pubs. There are many walking routes and cycle trails in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, plus historic York, Durham and Ripon are within driving distance. A rare chance for an unforgettable holiday in a wonderfully impressive area, set in a lovely location in the beautiful grounds of one of England's finest country homes.

We accept week from Friday to Friday. Shorter lets run from Friday to Monday - Monday to Friday. Others by arrangement after discussion - we try to be flexible - please enquire!

Your holiday cottage apartment is situated in one of the finest areas, Wensleydale and the Yorkshire Dales, for holiday activities and tourist attractions. We are surrounded by scenic walking and cycling opportunities, historic market towns and cathedral cities, interspersed with some great tourist 'day's-out' attractions. If you need to see the sea, Whitby, Tynemouth and Redcar are very accessible by car.

Historic Market Towns - Bedale, Richmond, Leyburn, Ripon Masham, Hawes.

Tourist Attractions close by - Bolton Castle, Fountains Abbey, Forbidden Corner Middleham, Thorp Perrow Arboretum, Black Sheep Brewery Masham,

Also great to visit for a combination of History and shopping - York, Durham.

Good for the urban vibe - Leeds, Newcastle

Great gardens - Newby Hall, nr Ripon,

Fun times - Forbidden Corner, Middleham, Lightwater Valley pleasure park.

Around Easter - we have the Food Festival in Leyburn and the Middleham Racing Stables open day on Good Friday.

During summer there is racing at York, Catterick and Ripon - some are evening meetings.

The TOUR de FRANCE is arriving in Yorkshire on 4 and 5 July 2014 and we are ideally placed to stay - bicycle off from us to watch from a vantage point - Leyburn is 7 miles away and Masham also about 7. The competitors pass through these market towns.

Bicycles welcome - we can store them for you.

Hayloft is set on the estate grounds of Patrick Brompton Hall in the pretty village of the same name. The apartment looks out onto the Hall, a beautiful Grade II listed Queen Anne House dating back to 1703, and the stable yard and beck beyond. Equidistant from the Yorkshire market towns of Bedale and Leyburn, the village itself is very pretty; old stone cottages very typical of the Yorkshire Dales, a babbling beck with wild trout, the local village pub The Green Tree…

Beyond the village the attractive town of Bedale is worth a visit. Stop for a coffee before making your way around the town's antique shops. In the opposite direction you'll find the charming market town of Leyburn. Leyburn is an archetypical slice of Dales market town life. You'll find traditional shops, pubs and cafes all gathered around the handsome town square, which hosts a busy market every Friday. Leyburn is also home to the biggest auction centre outside of London if you fancy picking up a bargain. The nearby historic town of Richmond is similar in many ways, and has a lovely setting along the River Swale.

There are lots of other pretty villages and stunning natural sights all within close range of The Hayloft. Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle are just a few miles away and the gorgeous villages of West Burton and Askrigg are within easy driving distance, so lots of choice for things to do if you want to get out and about. If walking is your thing, the Yorkshire Dales are something of a walker's paradise. And there are plenty of options for cycling too in Tour De France country. If in doubt, ask the owners who have lived in the area all their lives.
