The Normandy / Calvados region

The Pays d'Auge is renowned for its production of cider and calvados. There are large distilleries but still plenty of small producers. Its climate is favourable to breeding of dairy-cattle and production of excellent cheeses like Camember, Pont-l'Ev�que and Livarot. You will discover all these products on numerous farmers markets as you drive around the region.

If you feel like going out, you are a 15 minutes away from the glamourous and vibrant Deauville which is plenty of live restaurants. If you look for a quieter place, you can always go for a romantic diner in the charming Honfleur.

You can enjoy walk tours on little paths le Pays d'Auge is full of. There is plenty of sightseeing (Castles, D-Day beaches, monuments, pitoresque towns...) in the area and we will provide you with all the necessary information you may require.

There are more than 10 golf course in the area of which 4 are less than 10 miles away from the house. There are loads of tennis courts and horse riding sites nearby.

Beaumont en Auge is a charming little town with a lot of art and antique shops plus a famous "restaurant gastronomique". There is a farmers market every Sunday and Monday in Pont l'Eveque


How to get there

There is an access to the A13/E46 autoroute only 3 miles away. This motorway will take you directly to all the ferry ports: Cherbourg, Ouistreham, or Dieppe, Boulogne and Calais via le Pont de Normandie.
A few distances: Cherbourg 100miles 2H, Ouistreham 33 miles 40mins, Dieppe 90miles 1h30,Boulogne 175miles 2h30, Calais 195miles 2h50, Deauville 8miles 15mins, Arromanches-les-Bains 50miles, 1h.
