Home description

Tan-y-Bryn is a fine old Georgian house in the heart of Beaumaris. This was the house of the Garrison Commander when Beaumaris was a Garrison Town on the road to Dublin. The house has been renovated to a very high standard with full central heating. It has 2 double bedrooms and I bunk bedroom (sleeps two). We provide a full Sky package and some Internet access. The house is approx 150 yards from Beaumaris sea front, 400 yards from the shops and restaurants.

The large front yard is paved with flower beds all round, there is parking for two cars and a raised barbeque area to sit and relax.

The ground floor has a large kitchen with dining area; the kitchen is very well laid out with great cooking facilities for those so inclined. Off this area is seating around an inglenook fireplace with a very nice gas fire in the style of the old type farmhouse range. The ground floor has a toilet and hand basin off the hallway.

The first floor consists of a good sized lounge with a tv and dvd player. It has two large windows looking out towards the mountains across the Menai Straits. Also on this floor is a large bathroom, with two basins, power shower; and a bath.

The top floor has three bedrooms, all heated; the original floorboards have been polished to create a very warm feel to these rooms. There are two rooms with double beds and one room with bunk beds that sleeps two .theres also a box of goodies in the bunk bedroom to occupy the children on those rainy days.

Beaumaris is the ideal location for a short or long term break for couples, small families, and friends to get away from it all. This unique and charming town came into being by Royal Charter (King Edward 1st 1296). King Edward 1st also built Beaumaris Castle now a World Heritage Site. The town has so much to offer at your finger tips. From the Beaumaris Arts Festival and The Beaumaris Town Regattas to the magnificent Fireworks Display from the Battlements of Beaumaris Castle on New Year’s Eve. Great places to visit, Beaumaris Castle,Goal, and Courthouse. Enjoy a boat trip with Starida wwwstarida.co.uk to Penmon to see the seals and puffins. A must when visiting Beaumaris is crab fishing – not only enjoyed by the children but also mums and dads!! Bring a bucket, spade, net, and crab line, don’t worry if you don’t have any they can all be purchased in the town. For the ladies Beaumaris offers some great shops to buy clothes or gifts for yourself, friends and family to take home. To round off your day Beaumaris has some great places to eat, especially The Liverpool Arms Hotel. This hotel dates back to 1706. It is a real gem, a handsome Georgian fronted building located on the main street. The Liverpool Arms is very much everyone’s idea of a perfect country hotel, with real charm, a convivial atmosphere and great sense of history - friendly service, good food, good ale, great atmosphere. The food is fantastic Phil (head chef) makes a hearty steak pie and splendid macho lamb! If it’s a rainy day and you don’t feel like cooking or going out The Liverpool Arms Hotel offers a fantastic Take-Away menu…. You could get the board games out, watch a good old film and enjoy a great Take-Away!!
