Regency Town House in a spectacular location overlooking The Green and Menai Strait spanning from Llandudno and the Great Orme to Snowdonia, with Beaumaris Castle to the rear. Decorated, furnished and equipped to a very high standard with a pretty south facing sitting room on the ground floor and a larger drawing room on the 1st floor, both with fine views over The Green and the sea. Wonderful walks from the house onto the headland towards Penmon or across the promenade to the pier and into the beautiful area behind Beaumaris with its magical Mill Race woodland. The Anglesey Coastal Path is also nearby.

"Well-positioned characterful property in one of the best places on Anglesey"

We stayed at No 5 The Green Edge in the heatwave of Summer 2013. The house provided ample spacious accommodation for our small group. The place was very well-presented and tidy on arrival and a couple of minor problems whilst we were staying were dealt with speedily, thus not really impacting on our holiday.

Whilst the property has bags of character, the decor is a little tired in places. You do also feel like you are living in someone else's house whilst you're there, so it's not quite as easy to relax in as some holiday properties - for example there's hardly any space in the kitchen for bringing food. It would have been difficult to cope if we had the maximum 8 people there.

That said, the location is superb, very close to the centre of Beaumaris, and compared to other properties we looked at on Anglesey, it is far superior. Beaumaris Castle, the tea shops and pubs and restaurants of all varieties are just round the corner, from fish and chips, up to Cennin, where we had an excellent meal.

Travel around Anglesey was also pretty easy, with Red Wharf bay 15 minutes away by car and the beaches of Holy Island only 40 minutes away.

I would recommend this property, if you were prepared for the quirky characterful nature of the property.

Parking on the green: obtain a week's visitor pass from the hut (open 9-6ish). Don't feed the meter at 5.40pm as this only gives you until 6pm. The owners had kindly left forms for the week's visitor pass (£12 + £10 barrier card deposit) in the kitchen.
