Maison de Sérénité
About the home
Apart from a hectare of private garden la Maison de Sérénité also offers an elevated private south facing sun terrace, ideal for al fresco dining which overlooks a picturesque valley and gives direct access to a newly decked private swimming pool (with disabled access) and a smaller children’s pool.
The house comfortably sleeps eight with plenty of room for overspill in the extensive attics. With its thick stone walls the house provides a cool sanctuary during the blazing heat of the summer.
Entering the property from the village along the driveway bordered by an avenue of pollarded lime trees gives a sense of stepping back time to a bygone era. The house, in its original state and continually occupied since the 1680's, invites visitors to relax in the extensive grounds and enjoy the house either as a relaxing destination retreat in itself or as base camp from which to explore the wide range of leisure pursuits available in the Charente Region.
With newly refurbished plumbing and wood burning stoves in all downstairs rooms La Maison de Sérénité can offer an extended season long after the heady days of Summer have passed.
