Home description
Set in the grounds of Beadnell House, a former hotel, now luxurious apartments, The Bothy is a conversion of the old gardeners cottages. Located at the heart of the old sector of Beadnell, the property is in a quiet spot, yet close to the village amenities, including 2 pubs, a village cafe, shop and post office and less than half a mile to glorious sweeping sandy beaches.
We'll provide all the comforts of home with lovely crisp bed linen, comfy beds, fluffy white towels, (there's even one provided for the dog too if you have one), A welcome pack awaits your arrival, full of local and fairtrade produce, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cake or biscuits, a loaf of bread and usually a home made preserve - lemon curd is usually the order of the day ....... mmmmm!!!
A great base to explore the area. Participate in water sports - the village has its own boat launch facility at the beach and a sailing club, and is a favourite for diving, kite surfing and just having a great family day out on the beach.

The Northern England / Yorkshire / Northumberland region
The North Northumberland coast is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of sandy beaches, Castles standing guard over the coast, wildlife breeding grounds for grey seals and puffins to name just a couple. Gateway to the Farne Islands Seahouses is a bustling harbour catering for both the small local fishing fleet and visitor boats taking day trippers, orthothologists and photographers 2 miles offshore to the outcrop of Farne Islands.
15 miles south is the dominent Alnwick Castle with its world famous Garden, Inland are more castles, historical battle fields like Flodden, fantastic walking in the Cheviots, and sections of long walks pass through the area like the end of the Pennine Way, St. Oswald's Way, St. Cuthberts Way. Cycle routes around quiet local lanes or chunks of longer rides like the Coast and Castle route 1 between Newcastle and Edinburgh. All of which make this a county of many facets, there is literally something for everyone, young or old, activity orientated or sightseeing mad there is just loads to see and do here and we're confident your break won't be long enough to do it all, or so our past visitors tell us.... - you'll just have to come back again and again....
Beadnell area
Renowned for its beautiful sweeping sandy bay with miles of sand - perfect for building sand castle and paddling. Watersports are well catered for here too as the bay has its own boat launch facility, kite surfers are fast making this their north east home and the little yacht club regularly holds races off shore during the season.
Beadnell has a breathtaking gently shelving bay and boasts the only harbour on England’s East coast whose entrance actually faces West. Two preserved 19th century lime kilns “stand guard” over the little harbour.
With a village shop, the Village Pantry Cafe, the Craster Arms and The Towers Hotel all within walking distance of our apartments and cottages Beadnell really is a super location for that family holiday by the sea.
Birdwatchers too are very well catered for with an abundance of waders and nesting terns in season.
Golf in the area is superb, with many links and parkland courses with spectacular views and testing courses there is something for every level and all with easy commuting - Seahouses being the closest is just 1km away, Bamburgh 2.5km and Dunstanburgh approx 4km. and for the young at heart there's always the crazy golf at the Bunker in Seahouses, to while away an afternoon.
How to get there
By Car via A1 turn off at B1340 and follow signs to Beadnell Airline to Newcastle International and hire Car Train - North East Coastal line alight at Alnmouth for Alnwick, pre-arrange a taxi or pick up.
