Northern England region

The area is best known for its sweeping sandy beaches, rolling dunes, high rocky cliffs and isolated islands. Amidst this striking landscape is the evidence of an area steeped in history, covering 7,000 years of human activity. A host of conservation sites, including two National Nature Reserves, testify to the great variety of wildlife and habitats also found in the AONB.

Beadnell

This is a varied and extremely popular stretch of coastline. With watersports and a vast expanse of sandy beach in Beadnell Bay, the Seaside resort town of Seashouses with it's amusements and Farne Island trips and the ancient Village of Bamburgh that has barely been touched by modern life. Quite a contrast in such a short stretch! This part of the County has something to offer everyone and in the Summer months can get extremely busy. It also includes my favourite view, looking across the beach at Bamburgh to the dramatic Castle, it's an area you could never tire of visiting.

Beadnell Bay

Beadnell bay is a stunning stretch of coastline with a wide sandy beach backed by huge sand dunes that are so steep they are ripe for sledging! This is probably the best place in the county to visit if you're active and like watersports, you can do pretty much anything here from surfing and rafting to scuba diving and cliff jumping! Or of course you could just relax on the beautiful beach.
