Northern England region
The Northumberland coastline is a land far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in a county brimming with things to do and places to see amongst the most spectacular of landscapes.
Explore mile upon mile of the wonderful uncrowded golden sandy beaches and stunning countryside set amongst two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the rugged Northumberland National Park. Discover more castles than anywhere else in England, the birthplace of English Christianity on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, the historic World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall, stunning Alnwick Garden picturesque towns and villages and much more.
There are plenty of golf courses and lots of activities and some great walking.
Beadnell is located on the North Northumberland coastline, about 3 miles south of Seahouses. It is well known for its sandy beaches, tranquillity and superb scenery.
The historic village of Beadnell lies just a few miles east of the main A1 that links Edinburgh with Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but despite this, it remains off the beaten track and as a result has not been spoilt by over-development.
Beadnell is renowned for its extensive range of quality water sports; including sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving. Only 2 miles north is the fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands - famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony depart regularly, and where there are several quaint tea rooms, charming shops, a leisure centre, fishing and a golf course available. A further 3 miles up the coastline is the picturesque village of Bamburgh, which lies snuggled in the shadow of it majestic castle.
Holy Island the birthplace of Christianity and site of Lindisfarne Castle can be seen from the wild expanse of golden, sandy beach. Just a few miles inland is the bustling market town of Alnwick, with its own dramatic castle, often referred to as 'The Windsor of the North' and ancestral home to the Duke of Northumberland (and film location for Harry Potter's Hogwarts Academy!)
A wonderful tourist attraction is Alnwick Garden a spectacular contemporary interpretation of a formal garden and includes the Grand Cascade waterfall, a Poison Garden and the largest tree house in Europe!
