The Beadnell area
Beadnell Harbour is an historic and beautiful west-facing harbour (the only one on the North East coast!) and has the National Trust-owned Beadnell Limekilns as a backdrop.
Beadnell has a post office and a small shop, two very good pubs with excellent food (The Beadnell Towers and The Craster Arms), a church and a well-equipped children's playground.
South of Beadnell is the huge sweep of Beadnell Bay with its golden sands stretching for over 2 miles. Wonderful for children and the young-at-heart. Part-way round the bay is the Long Nanny bird reserve with a large colony of nesting terns and plovers.

Lovely property in an excellent location. Very well fitted out with friendly helpful owners who make you welcome to use their home. We stayed with our children and grandchildren. There were eight of us and we never seemed crowded. The bedrooms are light and roomy and the children loved the bunk beds. The views out to sea whilst enjoyng our meals were an added bonus as were all the balconies. The evenings on the beach just over the road - flying kites and a glass wine in hand all made it a memorable birthday for us all. Response: Glad you all had a lovely time and a happy birthday! |

From the website this looked like a great place to spend some quality time with family and friends and it exceeded all expectations. From the lovely touches of the Welcome pack, high quality toiletries and fresh flowers to the practical well equipped kitchen, the great selection of games and DVDs, the space to spread out and chill out, 1-2 the Haven has all the comforts of home and more. We loved the art deco style, the space and the location. The only negative was that we didn't have enough time in this very special house - truly a haven. We look forward to returning. |
