The Northern England / Yorkshire / Northumberland region
Beadnell is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful coastline . Seahouses is just two and a half miles away where you can take a boat trip to the Farne Islands. Bamburgh is 6 miles away and Holy Island is easily available for a day visit you just need to get the times of low tide. Alnwick is about 10 miles away so the beautiful Castle Gardens are a great day out and the Tree Top Restaurant is certainly to be experienced .
At Beadnell harbour you will find the ancient Lime Kilns which date back to the 1790's. The area offers several golf courses close by at Seahouses Embleton and Bamburgh. There is horse riding from Seahouse and birdwatching in the nearby bird sanctuaries. The area is a ramblers delight there are miles and miles of unspoilt beaches footpaths and country walks.
Beadnell area
Some of the places we would recommend you visit whilst in the area are the 2 beautiful villages of Ford and Etal. There is an extremely good pub which serves excellent food at Newton By the Sea. Craster has a beautiful harbour and whilst there you can buy the most delicious smoked salmon and kippers at Robsons which have been smoked in the traditional way. There is a very pleasant walk for the whole family [small children included ] from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle. You can get a tasty lunch at the Craster pub with beautiful sea views.
How to get there
Beadnell is about 10 km off the A1 so car is the best way to visit. There are coaches from Newcastle and Berwick. The main line train stops at Almouth and then a train can be taken to Chathill which is 7km from Beadnell completing the journey by taxi.
