The Northumberland region

Northumberland is a wonderful combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife. Ideal for walkers, cyclists and families wishing to relax.

1 Dunes Court is an excellent choice for couples or families wishing to holiday together in Beadnell. Beadnell Bay offers water sports, sea fishing or a chance to walk along the golden beach. The Heritage Coast is right on the doorstep!

Peace and tranquility are always to be found on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne which can only be accessed at low tide by a causeway which links it to the mainland. Alnwick, a larger market town, is dominated by Alnwick Castle and Gardens is a lovely place to spend an afternoon . Berwick, the Scottish Borders and the Cheviot Hills are all within 30 minutes drive.

Beadnell

Beadnell has a small shop and Fish and Chip shop. There are two very good pubs with excellent food (The Beadnell Towers and The Craster Arms), a church and a well-equipped children's playground.

South of Beadnell is the huge sweep of Beadnell Bay with its golden sands stretching for over 2 miles. Wonderful for children and the young-at-heart. Part-way round the bay is the Long Nanny bird reserve with a large colony of nesting terns and plovers.

The nearest small town is Seahouses, about 2 miles away, a bustling seaside resort with a range of shops, restaurants and amusements. Boat trips run regularly from Seahouses harbour to the Farne Islands in the summer.

There are several golf courses nearby; the nearest at Seahouses is less than five minutes drive away whilst Bamburgh and Embleton are each about 15 or 20 minutes drive.Beadnell Harbour is an historic and beautiful west-facing harbour (the only one on the North East coast!) and has the National Trust-owned Beadnell Limekilns as a backdrop.

"What a perfect beach holiday location!"

The apartment was perfect for our family beach holiday. Great value for money. Perfect location, only metres from a beautiful sandy beach.

"Brilliant week at Beachcombers in Beadnell"

My wife and I arrived at Beachcombers on Friday the 27th of June leaving a week later on the 4th of July. The idea/reason was to recuperate after a double hernia operation on the 6/6/2014. At home I was constantly being told "You shouldn't be doing that"! Well a week at Beachcombers certainly did the trick, it got me away from the tempting jobs at home and was very pleasant. We walked on what we think are the best beaches pretty much every day. Enjoying glorious sunshine on route to Seahouses, and to Low Newton by the Sea for lunch in the Ship. We visited the Arctic Tern Colony and spent quite some time in Alnwick and the Castle. The apartment met our needs well and was home from home, it is clean, bright, nicely decorated and well equipped. Being situated some 100 yards or so from the beach was a bonus. The wooden deck at the rear was a sheltered sun trap and a nice place to sit and relax. A great spot and one that I am sure we will be using again when time permits. I just hope I don't have to wait for another operation to give me the excuse.
