About the home

Longlands Retreat is a well equipped four star rated holiday home, with full central heating in a quiet location in the historic fishing village of Beadnell.

It offers a flexible sleeping arrangement due to the zip and link bed in bedroom two, which can be used as a king size or two singles.

The spacious and light lounge is tastefully furnished and decorated with seating for six people. It has a flat screen freeview TV, dvd player, wi-fi access, a telephone for incoming calls and a wide selection of dvd's, books and local tourist information to chose from.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you are likely to need, which includes a dishwasher, washer/drier, large fridge/freezer, microwave, cooker and coffee maker. The dining table in the kitchen seats up to six people.

The bathroom has a bath with shower over, wc and basin.

There are three bedrooms. One has a double size bed, the second bedroom can be set up as a king size double or two single beds and third has bunk beds. The double rooms have wardrobes, a chest of drawers and bedside tables with lights. The bunk bed room has two chests of drawers and one bedside table with light.

The snug has a television with an inbuilt dvd player and a playstation 2 with games to chose from. A good selection of board games are also available.

There is a highchair and travel cot.

All bedlinen is provided (apart from linen for the travel cot) and each person is provided with a bath and hand towel.

A welcome pack is provided on arrival.

The cottage is predominantly on one level, with one step down from the kitchen/diner into the snug/playroom.

There is full wi-fi access and the telephone accepts incoming calls.

The property benefits from full central heating (not storage heaters), making it an ideal property to visit all year round.

Freeview TV, two ipod docking stations and radio/cd player.

Wide selection of dvds to watch, games to play and books to read in the event of rainy weather.

One of the double bedrooms can be either set up as either a king size double or as two single beds.

This recently modernised and tastefully decorated property is extremely well equipped providing all the home comforts.

The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

Property is available from 3pm on the day of arrival and guests must vacate by 10 am on day of departure.

Payment can made by either cheque or paypal.

The Northern England / Northumberland region

You can use the cottage as a base to explore the stunning Northumberland coastline, Farne Islands, Alnwick and Cheviot Hills or you could just relax in the cottage and enjoy the village, the local amenities, the beach and the harbour.

Ideal for walking all year round with beaches either side of the village. There is information about visitor attractions in the property. Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh Castles nearby, Farne Islands accessed from Seahouses harbour which is 2 miles away. Alnwick, Holy Island, Lindisfarne and other great places to visit are all within easy reach of the property. Ideal location for golfing, fishing, photography and bird watching holidays along this stunning coastline.

The Beadnell area

Beadnell is located on the North Northumberland coastline, about 2 miles south of Seahouses. It is well known for its sandy beaches, tranquility and superb scenery. Bamburgh, Alnwick and Craster are a short drive away.

The historic village of Beadnell lies just a few miles east of the main A1 that links Edinburgh with Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Set back from the main Alnwick to Seahouses road Beadnell retains a village atmosphere.

Beadnell is a peaceful village which benefits from two good pubs, offering excellent food, and general store / post office. The village provides an ideal central point from which to discover this fascinating and picturesque coastline of Northumberland. Boat trips to the Farne Island runs daily throughout the main season.

During holiday times the huge beach area is popular with families and sports enthusiasts alike but you can always find a quiet spot.

Watersports including, diving, sailing, surfing, windsurfing, sea canoeing and waterskiing are available locally. Boat launching facilities are available from the main beach (local fee payable). Day fishing trips run from Seahouses and Craster. Nearest golf course is 2 miles away and there are many to choose from within a 15 minute drive from Beadnell.

“Comfortable & Well Equipped Accommodation” We stayed here over the Xmas and New Year Holiday period. Perfect size accommodation for a family holiday (there were two adults and two teenage children in our party). Bungalow was well equipped with everything we needed, and is provided to an excellent standard of cleanliness. Close to beach and local amenities all within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

“Home from home within short walk of lovely beaches” Enjoyed our stay in this well equipped bungalow. Ideal for long walks along the beach which our dog loved. Visited the Craster Arms in the village a couple of times as it was dog friendly. Left feeling totally relaxed and looking forward to visiting again in the future to recharge our batteries.

“Absolutely fabulous” This property certainly has the "wow" factor. Everything provided for and to a very high standard. The games room went down well with the teenage daughter as did the docking station for the MP3 player!! Lovely quiet location in the centre of Beadnell and literally 5 minutes walk from the beach. There is a sheltered garden to the rear of the property with a decking area which we look full advantage of - regardless of the weather! This is a beautiful property and I would recommend it to anyone, in fact don't bother looking anywhere else - just book it!! Fabulous!

“A lovely property beautifully decorated like home from home - fab!” My husband, I, two teenagers and one 7 year old stayed here for 4 nights at half term. It was very easy to locate the property, when we arrived it was beautifully decorated and everything ready for us. The owner even thoughtfully placed some milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine. I organised a tesco delivery for just after our arrival. The property is about a 10 minute walk from the lovely golden beach. A great location to go and visit the area. The property worked well for us because there were two sitting rooms so the teenagers had their own space. The bedrooms were a good size with plenty of wardrobe and draw space. Everything you could possible need had been provided. Thank you.
