About the home

Originally home to the village quarry-master and his family, Le Petit Oliver is now a fully restored three bedroom family house, complete with all modern conveniences. There is ample parking besides the house for several cars.
The house is south facing and has lovely views across the mature gardens. In front of the house is a private tiled terrace - ideal for al fresco dining or winding down after a hard day of sightseeing. There is a barbecue and table & chairs for those long hot summer evenings.
There is an 8m x 4m above-ground swimming pool in the garden surrounded by a decking area. The garden also has several sun loungers and a picnic table for your comfort.

The swimming pool is open from April until the end of September and is surrounded by a securely fenced decking area.

Conditions

- The house is not suitable for guests with limited mobility, as the bathroom and bedrooms are on the first floor and the pool is accessed via a slope in the garden.
- We will consider allowing pets - please contact us with your requirements.
- Smoking is not allowed in the house, but is allowed in the al fresco dining area.
- Refundable breakages deposit of £100/€130 required and will be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
- 30% of rental fee is due on booking to secure your stay.
- Remaining 70% is payable 8 weeks prior to your stay

Le Petit Oliver is situated in the northern Vendée with lovely views across the gardens and countryside. The Vendée is known for being the second sunniest region in France and boasts many good quality beaches. There are many great visitor attractions all within an hours drive - such as The Puy du Fou theme park and Futuroscope. The Marais Poitevin is also only a 30 minute drive, where you will find a peaceful day's outing on the canals and towpaths of Coulon & Maillezais. The forest of Mervent and the artists village of Vouvant are close by too.

The Bazoges en Pareds / Siclon area

Le Petit Oliver is situated in a small hamlet on the outskirts of the historic medieval village of Bazoges-en-Pareds, which is famous for its magnificent Donjon (Keep). The village is well served with a bar, boulangerie, chemist, grocery store and an excellent and very popular restaurant.

The area surrounding the house is a haven for birds and wildlife, and it is only 10 minute drive to a nearby leisure lake, where you can picnic or fish.You can also swim there in the summer months. There is another lake nearby with two restaurants. There are many opportunities in the area for horse-riding, fishing, cycling, boating etc. and we are happy to advise on any aspect of your holiday.

Our village is approximately a 3 hour drive from St Malo, 4.5 hours from Cherbourg or 7 hours from Calais.

Our closest airport is Nantes at only 50 minutes away, with the smaller airport of La Rochelle only 55 minutes away. The budget airlines of Ryan Air, Jet2 and Flybe all use these airports.

Car hire is available from both airports.

This was a beautiful house and extremely spacious, much bigger than we had expected. Lots of room for the children to play and the garden was wonderful. The swimming pool was lovely and in the sun all day. The owners, who are on site, were helpful and friendly but not intrusive. A wonderful time and would love to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful part of France. The property was wonderful with everything we required. There is so much to do in the area, the wonderful beaches, lakes and pretty towns and villages. A trip to Puy de Fou for the cinescenie in the evening is a must. We hope to return again.

For high season the changeover day is a Saturday, but we are able to be more flexible outside of these summer dates. We can also accommodate short breaks (minimum 3 nights) and long winter lets, so please call us for more details.

A 30% deposit will be required to secure the reservation with the remaining payment being made 8 weeks prior to the start of your stay.

A £100/€130 security deposit cheque is also required against any damages to the property.

We are able to accept payment by cheque or direct bank transfer, either in Pounds Sterling or Euros.
