This is our second visit within twelve months, could'nt stay away. In fact we liked it so much that we are going back in September. A longish but very easy drive from Malaga, Almeria and Alacante airports. There are plenty of good places to stop en-route for meals and refreshments and the scenery is stunning!! There are two large towns within striking distance, Gaudix 12 kilometres to the west & Baza12 kilometres to the east. The small and charming village of Gor with a couple of small bars and restaurants and a weekly market is only about 2 and a half kilometres away. The accommodation at the farmhouse is excellent as are the hosts Bernie and Pam. The views from the farm are incredible. We have never been at a loss for somewhere to go or something to do. Simply put, our stays with Bernie and Pam have been the most wonderful and relaxing holidays we have had for many years. |

The property is situated among 15 acres of olive trees, with beautiful views across the surrounding countryside. It is very peaceful, and has its own pool and outside patio area with bbq. The property itself is deceptively spacious with two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and lounge with tv - all of which are very clean. It is a typical Spanish farmhouse so is full of character. The owners live next door so are on hand any time of the day or night should you need them. They are the most friendly, helpful people you could wish to meet, and we spent many an hour sitting chatting with them over a beer! (They even took us down to a bar in the local village one night to meet all their friends!) The are also very knowledgeable about the local area and can suggest places to visit. The property is well situated as it is only 5 minutes from the motorway. From here you can reach the local towns of Baza and Guadix, and if you are after a day out you can head for Granada or Almeria. There is also a lovely 'Parque Natural' nearby and the beautiful Negratin lake, which is great for swimming and sunbathing. All in all a great holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of Spain. We will definately visit 'Pepe Soria' again if we are in that area. |
