The Normandy / Calvados region

The golden prairies and wooded valleys help to give the beautiful region of Calvados its description as the 'milk-cart capital' of France. The area is famous for its creams and cheeses, apple orchards and fishing ports. Gourmands must try the refreshing cider, or the Calvados apple brandy; the aperitif Pommeau is a mix of the two. The tremendous Normandy coast and some of France's biggest beaches are a short drive from Domaine de Litteau. Several of these were the scenes of D-Day landings during World War II, and visitors will find many memorials and museums providing a window to the past. The medieval town of Bayeux is home to an immaculately maintained American war cemetery, the famous tapestry telling the story of William's conquering of England and an incredible 11th century cathedral. Mont Saint Michel is this region's must-see attraction: it's an imposing Gothic-style abbey linked by a causeway to the coast of Normandy.

The Bayeux / Litteau area

Domaine de Litteau is a rural retreat in Calvados, Normandy; quiet, relaxed and right on the edge of Cerisy Forest. The parc boasts a new indoor pool with water chute, spa pool and toddler pool, plus two small fishing pools for the exclusive use of guests. There is one children's club available in July and August and a playground for youngsters.
