For those looking for an inspirational retreat, Reflections is a veritable painter's palette - offering a different perspective and different mood as you view the water from every window and all sun decks surrounding the home and swimming pool.

The property extends to the beach frontage below which is easily accessible by footpath, where you'll find a lovely swimming beach and kayaks for your use. The home is very tastefully appointed with artwork and luxury furnishings collected while living abroad in Europe and the Middle East.

The main house master bedroom has a super king, and a lounge sitting area with a private en-suite including bidet. A private entrance leads to the sun deck. The main house guest room is a king size bed with a hall bathroom. A two person spa bath sits between both bedroom areas. A second guest bedroom is detached from the main house for extra privacy yet shares the main house baths. All bedrooms have beautiful furnishings and linens.

The gourmet kitchen is set for the discriminating cook and includes a professional cooker hob and large fridge/ freezer, as well as exterior BBQ. The Proprietress, Lynda Shephard, is an internationally renowned artist, best know for her watercolor paintings of New Zealand and Europe, who offers optional painting classes for guests wishing to discover the art of watercolor studies during their stay!

For the Yachtsman, we can provide you with either a 3 or 4 ton boat mooring in the safe anchorage of Pomare Bay, directly in front of Reflections Lodge. "Stunning Bay of Islands views"

We spent a fabulous week at this property in the Bay of Islands with visting family. We booked both the main house and the villa to house all of us. The house had everything we needed, and was big enough that everyone could find their own space to relax. The views are oustanding (even in the rain!). We were sure to take a dip in the pool everyday, and enjoyed the beach access and use of the kayaks to explore the surrounding bays.

"Serentity with great weather and surrounded by extraordinary scenery"

Overlooking the bay with graceful sailboats (and occasional cruise ship) below, nestled in among sub-tropical pongae and tea trees with historical and charming Russell a few minutes by dingy (or car) was exactly what I wanted. It was a great location with easy access to remote beaches, nature walks, musical tuis, inquisitive weka, local culture, events of historical significance and summer festivities. Kayaking and sailing in the bay provided spectacular alternate views with local vineyards adding to the experience... Peaceful, comfortable with easy access to pool and beach. A memorable stay. Definitely a place to re-visit!

"Paradise!"

This rental chalet is a private stand-alone duplex sited above the owner's large home. You look over that house to a magnificent view of the world-famous Bay of Islands. It's about 10km from the cute little town of Russell and nestled in native bush. There's a private track down to the beach. The decor of the chalet is most tasteful and overall the appointments are quite luxurious. We especially loved waking up in the (upstairs) bedroom to the wonderful view and the peace and quiet. A heavenly holiday spot!

"This place is just magical !"

We stayed here for a week to round off our honeymoon and what a magical place this turned out to be. The owner, Lynda, very kindly left champagne & chocolate as a greeting since she knew we were honeymooning. We have lovely memories of sitting up in bed to a lovely view of the bay, then breakfasting outside on one of the many terraces prepared in the well equipped kitchen. The decor is delightfully arty but homely at the same time and the place spotless! I had an art lesson in Lynda's art studio and after much patience on her part managed to produce a watercolour which hangs proudly on my wall at home. The gardens & greenery surrounding the property have cleverly positioned lights which create a wonderful atmosphere at night. I can't stress enough how lovely this place is. So close to Russell too where there are a couple of excellent eateries and places to get supplies. Try the oysters at the Marlborough Hotel! If not your thing sitting outside the Marlborough watching the boats bob, live music sometimes with the excellent wines & menu can't fail to please! We want to go back!
