About this location

The traveler who wants to know the island, from the first impact with the Sardinian land must understand that the journey of discovery is a "journey of environment" is understood primarily as a continuous vision of pristine natural environments: deserted beaches and immense, wild islands, woodland and scrub the eye, meadows bordered by stone walls, houses rare farm animals in the pasture, rolling hills whose height reach an average of 700 meters, but which are often steep and rugged mountains as true, in Moreover, almost everywhere, the bare rock surfaces determines the character of the landscape, in the vast expanses of the solo campaign. In Sardinia, more people live to be 100 years or more than in any other part of the world. And as a scientific study has shown, this longevity is not due to the genetic heritage of Sardinia, but the laid-back lifestyle and healthy island. But in no way Sardinians live as monks. In fact, Sardinia is a paradise for those who love good food, including fragrant bread fresh from the oven, delicious meat grilled over an open sky, spectacular fresh seafood, countless varieties of Sardinian Pecorino cheese, not to mention fresh fruits and vegetables directly from the manufacturer, of course, full-bodied wines. Sardinian cuisine is famous for its use of fresh, seasonal ingredients from the Mediterranean region. And what could be better than enjoying a glass of red wine in Sardinia, while you wait for your pasta, pork or lobster and choose the words you understand the background of nearby conversations. Are also memorable visits to Sardinia Cantina Sociale where they produce local wines, including Grappa.
gliastra, with the beauty of its coasts and its mountainous interior, it is a very recent discovery among the tourist destinations of Sardinia. Its territory enclosed between the sea and the mountain offers an endless amount of a unique of its kind scenarios.
A paradise of remarkable beauty situated along the eastern side of Sardinia, where nature offers it's best. The origin of its name apparently derives from the wild olive trees which abound in the territory, although others attribute the origin of the huge monolith overlooking the sea on the coast of Baunei called Agugliastra (or Pedra Longa).
The Ogliastra coasts are splendid oases set between sea and rock, and form one of the most beautiful marine environments of the Mediterranean. Starting from the north meet the coves accessible only by sea or walking through the trails. Among the most beautiful and famous beaches of Ogliastra: camping Cala Luna, Cala Sisine, and Cala Mariolu Goloritzé; most southern beaches are very interesting like Tancau, Beach Sunflower , Orrì, Cea, Marina di Barisardo and Cardedu, Coccorrocci and the Gulf of Sarrala.
The other charm is nature, a still unspoiled nature which varies gradually, climbs up to the hills to get to the mountains of Gennargentu, indulging the eyes with a varieties of landscapes of rare beauty. A land that requires a careful, curious, penetrating gaze that does not match the conventional tourist. From the standpoint of historical archeology, the whole country is worthy of attention, given the presence of many Nuraghi, Domus de Janas, holy sources, Menhir and Tombs of the Giants.
You can go hiking trails walking, by bicycle, on horseback, by car and by jeep in order to discover places that you won't forget easily. If you want to navigate through the many coves, a plenty offer for guided tours or for renting boats will allow you to discover the beautiful coast of Ogliastra.
You can not say that you have really visited our island if you do not spend at least a few days in Ogliastra.
